It actually has more to do with the weather, but whatever you say genius.

I would argue that the weather is least desirable during the summer in Louisiana. Surely I'm not alone here.

Nor do you have to wait for a wedding or funeral to see loved ones. They have a thing called Face Time where you can make video phone calls.

Not the same as a big party with everyone. That doesn't happen often.

Sorry your life is so sad that LSU football is the single most important thing in it. I hope your daughter wants a fall wedding when she grows up

Hence the weddings in the fall. Our wedding season isn't the same as the rest of the country's. Congrats on finally figuring it out.

I guess these people are more willing to give up every Saturday in the spring over missing one Saturday in the fall

Yeah, but if i know 60% of my girlfriend and my family are LSU season ticket holders; plus most of our friends are UT or LSU fans, I am going to avoid a few weekends. How is that hard to understand?

It isn't like you are planning around 1 or 2 people. I do not expect my TCU friends to check LSU schedule prior to planning their wedding.

Pretty hard if none of the vendors or venues I want are available except for those weekends, which shockingly does happen.

I think everyone gets that you don't schedule during the LSU-Bama game (and yes LNCHBOX, you do know that date a year+ in advance), but to bitch about fall weddings during a bye week or some Utah St. game is just silly to me.

Dude, I'm just saying, avoid SEC games. Is that fair? I'm not even trying to argue, I'm just giving my perspective as someone that recently planned a wedding. No reason to be so combative. I have missed games with a smile on my face and had a great time, but please don't act like your guests aren't missing something they would like to see (not rather see). Is that not a fair point?

And I assure you, I'm not the one that looks stupid.

Do you? Link with 100% certainty for when that game is in 2015?

Personally, I can't stand weddings.

I love my family, and I see them often enough to where I don't need a wedding to reunite with them.

I won't say that I will never go to a wedding scheduled on an LSU game day. My niece might be getting married or something.

But I would definitely be put off by it and I would advise anyone to avoid scheduling a wedding opposite an LSU game day, home or away. If there IS a choice, those days should not be the choice.

Believe me, there's a reason why so many wedding venues and services aren't booked on LSU game days. So if you're an engaged couple and your dream venue is open the first Saturday of November, that's why. So before your sweet little jewel jumps on that date, men, it's your obligation to bring up that half the people she invites are going to hate her fricking guts. Sure, those people SHOULD be able to look past it, but we deal in reality, not wishful thinking. The reality is you could have picked a better date, but didn't.

In other words, if you want it to be "your" special day, it will certainly be "yours." But don't think there isn't competition for your guests' attention. There is. And you're going to lose that battle with many of them.

by all means, avoid those weekends

no one is telling you to schedule your wedding during football season, most are just saying that it is a pretty shitty thing to bitch or skip a wedding of someone that you genuinely care about because of a football game

Have probably been to 10 weddings since April. I don't agree with you or Salmon here. This has been my experience for the past 3 years. More weddings April-july than rest of year combined.

No, because if there is a conflict with a vendor, I'm choosing my wedding over an SEC game. If you have such an issue with it, don't go. Otherwise, shut up. No one will ever force you to do something you don't want to.

So where do I draw the line? You keep ducking this question.

No, it's not fair. Because there will always be something going on the day of your wedding some guest would have been interested in doing that day. So where do I draw the line?

Well, you've been wrong about so much else. May as well add this to the list.

Believe me, I've been the best man in a HUGE wedding I know that dates are tough.

I rather my family and friends be dancing and not be huddled around a small TV by the bar or worse at the hotel because most wedding venues dont have TVs.

I am not talking about north texas or La tech, I am talking bama, ole miss or Auburn (@ home).

You've been to weddings on 10/13 weekends in a row? And you want more weddings in this time frame?

Oh, for frick's sake, it is probably one of the first 2 weeks in November like it has been for a decade. Come on now.

Which one? You said I know it a year in advance. Seems like I don't.
