This was another game they could have won if they were more physical while controlling the ball better by using up more of the shot clock. The fast break plays they tried were way too sloppy.

She never plays good against elite teams.
You must not watch LSU women’s basketball much because this statement is totally false

As I stated to the previous poster that you agreed with, this is not true.

I don't know if she's "struggling" per se, but she's not been as effective offensively this season. What she has improved on, however, is her rebounding, passing and defense. She's also the team leader, along with Williams, in terms of encouraging and motivating the team. So, she's still having a good season.

She is and has always been a good but inefficient player. She is a volume shooter that needs a lot of shots to get her points. She over dribbles and has bad turnovers. When we had Reese and Morrow a lot of her low % shooting performances were overlooked because they were getting offensive rebounds and put backs. Against lesser teams the inefficiency is also overlooked because it is made up for by other players and us winning. When playing a team like Texas and SC where the margin for error is so low, her inefficiency and low shooting percentage is amplified.

I think it can't be understated how much UT putting ball pressure on us in the backcourt hurt us all game. It didn't let us run and it caused us to use up the shotclock.
We were never able to push up and get into our offense quickly. Our offense is predicated on getting the ball to the wing and calling for pick and rolls.
Which we did to perfection probably no less than 10 times in that game.
However, it takes time off off the shot clock and couple with the fact that the refs were kinda letting Oldacre and Harmon mug our players, we were routinely pushing to the shot clock boundary which caused bad shots and many times no ability to be in position for offensive rebounds.
Schaefer had a really good gameplan against us and we never actually adapted. There was a shot of Starkey on the bench yelling "we can't run our offense, we can't inbound the ball, we aren't blocking out and getting rebounds."
I don't know who he was yelling at. But our girls were frustrated and error prone and it seemed our coaches didn't really know how to change the tide.
Even with all that, the reason we lost was because we turned the ball over and we took bad shots. We just didn't play well. That won't happen often.

Good news is that she has more support this year so she does not have t carry the load, but everyone has a bad game.
Every night a different player has the big night. She has had 3 big nights in SEC play
Ark 17 pts 2 stl 2 blocks
OK 23 pts 10 reb
GA 25 pts.
and had 18 pts 5 reb against Duke

If Flaujae would just past the ball more off the dribble her game would become a whole lot easier. Shes super talented but plays too much one on one.
She doesn't know how to pass the ball. That game turned in the second half when the ball was put in Flaujae's hands on three or four straight possessions. The Texas lead widened from 3 to 11 quickly. Also, in the first half she missed multiple layups.
When LSU had the 5 point lead they had 4 or 5 opportunities at the rim to extend the lead and couldnt make shots right at the basket.

Her decision making is the poorest on the team. She’s talented but needs to stay within her limits to be a positive contributor.

She hasn't been her usual self this year. Last year wasnt as good as her previous year.

I think the men could beat them

Yea.............................this is not true.
Last season, Johnson shot 47% from the field and 38% from the three point line. For a two guard that's hardly "inefficient". This season, she's having a harder time scoring the basketball for sure, but as I'd mentioned earlier, it's CLEAR that she's a better passer and rebounder this season than in the past. So, it's pretty much a wash.

Drives me nuts when we can't inbound the ball without some teams stealing it or causing us to get a 5-second violation.

Flujae needs to be more aggressive and score more points.
Posted on 2/7/26 at 11:12 am to jafari rastaman
Kim need to run some offense with big 4 moving on the baseline and her coming off a scree or double screen. This year when she gets the back its usually far out and she not in position to score and she try's to force it. Her strong points is her open court gam and he pull up game. Kim just needs to make it a lil easier for her in the half court. Even though LSU has more help this year scoring, I know she still wants to show people she can and is pressing but Kim needs to run stuff to free her and jada more.

Fast break dribble grills out of control ; slow it down consider passing the ball .
