5 days rest is plenty. He has done that twice this season and pitched great.
Also, we may get a Saturday/Sunday/Monday super. And we're not required to throw Skenes in game 1 of the super. Perfectly fine to throw him game 2, if he needs another day for some reason

Skenes talked about the 6 day week throwing him off rhythm in the regional previews.
I don't understand this. Skenes has pitched with 6 days rest every start this season except 3. He had 5 days twice and 7 days once. Other than that, 6 days all season.

Feel damn good! Looks like Hurd or Coleman on the mound. Either way end this after 7. I feel like a 14-4 game.
There is no 10 run rule in the post season. But I still like 14-4.

I get a coach being so concerned with winning game one that he chooses to take nothing for granted. I also get that in baseball anything can happen on any given day (LSU has lost some midweek games to "lesser" teams...as has pretty much everyone in the tournament).
That said, LSU was given a gift by the fact the worst (or 2nd worst) team in the entire tournament is located 70 miles south and sent to BR because of it. Tulane is awful. They are the only team in the tournament with a losing record. And it's not a record that is just a game or two under .500. They are TWENTY-ONE games under .500. This isn't a team like Ole Miss last season who at one point was #1, before struggling most of the season and getting hot late. This is a team that was horrible all season and got lucky they got to play the same two teams (Houston and Memphis) for almost the entirety of their conf. tournament.
With an unquestionably better team looming on day two (either OSU or SHSU), there is no reason to throw the best pitcher in America today. At worst, throw Floyd. If LSU cannot beat Tulane without Skenes throwing (and they already have, twice, without Skenes) then LSU's stay in the NCAAT is going to be very short.

What's he gonna do at the next level?

Very excited to watch the game today.

He could worry about that next year. We need him at his best for this month. If he specifically mentions something hampered him, they should control/ fix the issue if they can.
We got a very favorable draw in the regional. If we can’t win against a beat up Oregon state staff and Sam Houston with our 2 and 3 starter, we are wasting our time in the post season anyway.

Skenes pitches 100+ per game. He isn't pitching again on only 2 days rest.
You think pitchers don’t throw bullpens between starts? Skenes throwing Monday after his start on Friday would basically be his scheduled bullpen day.
I’m not saying he would throw another 100 pitches on Monday after throwing 100 pitches on Friday. But 30-ish pitches on Monday would be reasonable if needed.

I'll ask again. I don't understand this. Please explain the context of this complaint. Skenes has pitched with 6 days rest every start this season except 3. He had 5 days twice and 7 days once. Other than that, 6 days all season.

The fact that people are still trying to justify Skenes pitching today is funny. There is no justification. It’s literally insane

6 days between starts = 5 days rest. He also mentioned not returning to BR and sleeping in a hotel for a week. It was a combination of a bunch of stuff, but it’s all abnormal things in his schedule. Keeping him on schedule is ideal. Same goes for every other player.

Agreed. There is zero reason to throw Skenes today.

Yes Tulane sucks but they are not the typical 4 seed that would be intimidated to be facing LSU. I think it should be Hurd but I am still shocked by the over confidence some of our fans have for a team we play often and has no fear of LSU or Alex Box.

Pitching on Friday and then again the following Friday = 6 days rest. He has done this all season (except 3 games). Your previous post said he was thrown off schedule with 6 days rest. This makes no sense. Did you mean he was thrown off when he only had 5 days rest (vs Tennessee and Georgia)? He pitched great in those games. His rough outing vs Arkansas in the SECT was on 6 days rest. I just don't understand what you are saying.
