The reaction seems to be based on last nights loss, but for me it's the body of work since 2009. It's not acceptable plain and simple, not matter the reason's given.
There should not be case where Kent State, Indiana, N.C. State, and TCU have all won as many or more games in Omaha in the last 6 years than LSU.
I actually think the coaches have done above average this year, it's the cumulative lack of post season success after the SEC tourney that has me sour on him.

I do think that my personal feelings regarding PM skews my judgement, I think he comes across as an arrogant prick or maybe it's just me.
So if we had a nice guy with lots of positive energy in the dugout that says "well this loss is completely on me" after every single loss, with the same exact record and results, then everyone would be satisfied?

can you really credit Smoke with Jared Mitchell? I'd give that one to Miles. And wasn't Blake Dean recruited as a pitcher? And how were he, Ochinko, and Schimpf Smoke players? Smoke was fired before they stepped foot on campus. I'm sure he had a hand in recruiting them, but Mainieri still had to make sure LSU kept them, right?

If LSU couldn't win the title last year, they never will again with Mainieri. He's underachieved since 2009, and a lot of people say he's just a jerk in general and throws his players under the bus. Might be time to go in a new direction, but I'll give him a pass this year since so many players left.

Not all arrogant pricks are honest and not all nice guys are dishonest. Me? I don't give a shite as long as it leads to results. Results consistent with the talent and capabilities with the team which should get top 10 talent every year. Bad luck happens. Kids leave. But we've had national seed teams often with only 1 Omaha win to show for it.
So where are we missing? Has the talent not been there but we just overachieved? Or are we underachieving at the time where we can't out-talent teams and need to rely, at least somewhat, on coaching? What is PM teaching to help the players reach their potential? Or is he the type to just sit back and make a lineup when it's time? What decisions does he make to help put his team in the best position to win when it matters in game?
I have my own opinions. I answer those questions and think we should do better. Others think we are doing fine. They see regular season success and are fulfilled. Some don't even think anyone has a right to ask those questions, especially not the people here.

Hence "smoke" in quotes. He had a hand in all of them coming here especially the Florida guys Dean and Ochinko.

Another question that needs to be asked, IMO:
You have both Beau Jordan and Greg Deichmann in the lineup. One has shown he's a below average first basemen, the other is an unknown, but didn't look bad in limited time at the position.
Which one do you start at 1st and which one do you DH?

Paul definitely has his flaws, some people hate him, I don't hate the guy. I'm not exactly in love with him either. I wonder how long before recruiting takes a hit, though from comments such as about Deichmann. But the situation is the same as with Miles. Be careful what you wish for. People want them both out of here, but is someone lined up that we know can do better, or at least equal? Are great coaches beating the door down to come here? I don't really know the answer.

If you're telling me you're tired of PM and his in game management of pitching staffs, his tone, his lack of success in Omaha, or just the fact that he doesn't get you excited, I can ride with that.
To say that this year is anything less than a good coaching job to get this young of a team with a serious power deficit to be as solid as they are is nothing short of a joke. This team is playing well, all things considered

CPM's LSU team won the regular season SEC championship LAST year. He was voted SEC COY LAST year. In a conference with 3 teams in the top 4 in the country this yr, 5-6-7 in the top 20. Year in year out. He's won 1 NC in 10 years. The next best record in number of NC's is 2 by 2 different teams. His teams have won 5 out of the last 8 tourney championships. No team in the country has had to replace every starter but one in the field. etc etc etc.
