That drive to win and accomplish something (other than getting paid) is lost on a person like Keith. That's why he doesn't see any value in college baseball.
I always enjoy how butthurt he gets in the comments section on The Athletic. He can't help but engage and show his arse.

Yeah, I mentioned to him on Twitter that perhaps lucrative MLB franchises should be inclined to better accommodate these warriors if the job is that strenuous.
What I don’t understand is that surely it’s more respectable to avoid the draft all together than waste a team’s early pick…odd melt for a lot of reasons.

This bothers him? I wonder if he thinks it is ok for teams to literally pull kids all the way to second before they attend their first class?

I don’t understand why Schmidt has to make important life decisions based off the “career” of someone sitting around watching high school kids play baseball.
Someone told him to grow up and he replied with part of maturity is understanding your decisions affect others.
That is next level douchery. So Schmidt shouldn't go to college because Keith sat in the stands and scouted him, and choosing to do so shows he's immature.
I honestly can't wrap my head around just how big of a bitch comment that is.

He certainly was one back when he was at ESPN. Haven't followed him much since he departed there. He's a sharp guy, but very easily offended & whiny.

There are an over a million people who can provide whatever service this flaming f*g does. Only in the state of US “journalism” today would he be given a platform bigger than flaming on Twitter/X to 10 followers to spout his b.s.

Damn. You just described Lester Earl to an absolute T.

I am proudly blocked from his twitter.
Dude is a beta cuck. Classic shrimpy writer who probably never played past coach pitch but now has a seat at the table.

He is a moron. Schmidt chose to go have the college experience instead of toiling the minors leagues. Every year each team drafts about 20 prospects. This isn't like the NFL draft where if you are one of their 1-4 picks you usually make the team. Most of these kids never see the majors, no matter where they are chosen. An MLB team consists of 26 players. A drafted prospect is 1 of hundreds and hundreds of minor leaguers. A lot of last year's draftees are still playing High A ball. Also, the only money you earn is your signing bonus.

Nope. For the most part, High A maybe.

If you’re being literal, that’s not exactly correct either. High A League players earn a minimum of $27,000, up from $11,000. The players are also provided with housing and travel per diem.

About the money, they do not get paid much. They just recently got housing and travel per diem. Before that it was like poverty level.

Shouldn’t scouts not tell kids they’re going to draft them so high only no to, Keith?
Keith’s a twat and prob immediately regrets that twatter tweet.
It’s called America bitch, free will.

The final 4 left in Omaha last year was damn near close to AA quality.
This years was the equivalent of low Rookie league at best.
