If there are any nfl execs still looking at him he could likely sell them oceanfront property in Bentonville. He could always hang on to that “injury” excuse.
QBs are hard to find and overvalued in the NFL. I think some team will draft him. A 6th or 7th round pick isn’t a huge deal to take a flyer on a QB. I don’t see him playing long, but he will get a shot somewhere.

You didn't hear shite.
This is just a logical conclusion after what we saw tonight. The season is essentially over since there's no longer anything meaningful to compete for, the offense needed to try something different and MVB looked decent.

The Nussmeiers finally ran smack dab into an indifferent LSU with an interim coach who doesn’t give a frick about anything but winning right now.
He probably should have seen this coming.

Well as an adult I would never trash a kid that plays a sport, but a coach needs to select his players based upon current performance. I suspect that a mobile MVB may have moved the Old Miss and Vandy games from a L to a W.
Now maybe MVB can bring us to an 8-4 season and 9 -4 after a meaningless bowl.

I've got nothing personal against Garrett Nusmeier. Nor am "upset" with "Him" over yet another loss. Any "fault", in my opinion, lies not with Nuss but elsewhere (see below).
But the simple truth, clear R E A L I T Y.......as evidenced by hundred's of plays/snaps, repeated game starts, very "visible" + actual on-field performance.......that Nussmeier is just NOT an effective QB. He Does Not have the fundamental, ingrained, unique, combined skill sets required to play QB. PERIOD! He is not above or below average; not bad or good; not hurt or healthy. He just does Not have it! And that should be No Big Deal! G.N. should not have been "put" in that position, or not KEPT in that position after it became Super Evident he was Failing. Himself & HIS TEAM, University, Fans (I did not say Coaches, for they Failed both G.N. & themselves)!
It's reasonable, perhaps, that he be given the chance. But early on, it became abundantly clear that Nussmeier was, should NOT be playing QB @ the Division 1 Level. And certainly Starting for LSU!!
And again - So What!?! That simply Fact should not be a Big Deal! However, you can be absolutely assured (or Highly Likely if you prefer) that with his Father being a Pro QB Coach, while Garrett was very young, "It Was Decided & Expected".....he was Told, Taught, Molded, Encouraged - over & over - whether consciously/overtly or unconsciously/covertly......that He WAS a QB & WOULD (better) Be! Remember, we're talking about a Kid's mind/brain hearing, getting that message - over & over!
I teach/coach Tennis. And we see Parents make this decision, push push their Kid that they WILL, not only play, enjoy and be "pretty damned good", but that they WILL WIN TOURNAMENTS! There is no doubt that if an 8, 9,12 year old (or older) - IF they get the core, essential fundamentals of the strokes/game/footwork/etc. through repeated Lessons over years.....with dedication, thousands of hours of practice & if THEY want to play (love) Tennis.....they can develop a very respectable game! However, some kids just Do Not Have the same, ingrained skill sets, eyes/vision, timing/footwork, quick reactions or even neural/brain/bodies to Win Junior Tournaments or be Champions! They will still be good, even "great" tennis players.....which for many parents & kids is fabulous! They do "well" in tournaments, win matches, perhaps play #1 Singles for High School Team, etc. But they WILL NOT PLAY DIVISION 1 TENNIS!
It IS quite evident to hundred's of thousands, maybe a million knowledgable college football fans that Nussmeier does not move well, he is out of sync, his timing is off, he does not "see or feel" the field, plays, offense/defense, etc. HE IS NOT COMFORTABLE, LOOKS PRESSURED, THROWS EITHER TO HARD OR TOO SOFT, TOO LONG OR TOO SHORT.....He simply has NO TOUCH. And that is NOT good for a QB.....for it causes the entire offense to be Out of Sync. Football, Tennis & many other sports is a game of 1/4 Inch, 1/8th of a Second!!
I am No Football Wizard. But you don't have to be to see that it was a Huge Mistake to Start, Leave In, Expect Nussmeier to succeed, win or even perform/function as a QB.

What to me is illogical is his current performance vs last year when he ranked #3 all time LSU QB over a season behind only JD and JB . Something must have happened

There are a ton of college QBs out there. I am not sure why someone who struggled in college would get a shot in the NFL.

He doesn’t have good natural instincts, an has been coached so much to do certain things. He doesn’t have the ability to improvise when things break down. Tonight if he’d simply stepped up in the pocket instead of turning his back from looking down field he wouldn’t have taken a huge sack.
JB, and JD very rarely ever turned their backs from looking down field, and would figure out a way to extend a play. He’s missing wide open receivers, locking in on certain routes, refuses to move, and with a bad OL you can’t have that type of qb. I would say that penalties tonight hurt, and they did, but he’s been like this all season.

He needs to opt out of football for a good bit.

If true this would cement his legacy as the worst LSU QB of all time
Posted on 11/9/25 at 7:40 am to CapperVin
This would be the best easiest path and outcome. It’s time to work on the future anyways. More playing time for MVB will help us next year.
Posted on 11/9/25 at 7:43 am to CapperVin
I mean he opted out rather than play in a bowl game when Max Johnson transferred, so y'all should have seen this coming
Posted on 11/9/25 at 7:44 am to CapperVin
I’m sure he’s a great guy in the real world. But as far as a leader or a football team he is shite. Too much of cry baby and you can tell he feels like he is above coaching and criticism.

How is this thread still going? Nuss' "camp" didn't make a decision in the 4th quarter, and you didn't hear it an hour after the game.

He looked at Wilson last night as though he were beneath him (GN) when Wilson was lighting him up for running into that sack backwards.

personally very likable
Whining, limping, facial expressions etc are all awful . There are some guys that suck but they are likeable with how they play and act on the field (Etling was one). Nuss is the opposite. His type of play and personality are very hard to rally around
