Why? That move was expected before he even got on campus.

I like the move of Calhoun bc he's too skinny to play RB and that's more or less what they recruited him for

If you say so, but I still think he is best used on offense.
Is there a chance he could return punts of kicks this year.

I agree with you on Miles and the staff concerning preparation and development, but I'm not as sure as you that Davenport is an example of this.
Too much smoke on this one.

u talk about how we shouldnt doubt the coaches opinion about where he should play, be it ol or dt, and it made sense to me, until i realized these same coaches recruited him based on their observations at dt. so if he was overhyped and they didnt see it then, how am i to believe they always know best? sounds like they dont know for sure what they are doing with all these moves. why would u recruit a kid based on watching him perform at dt because you want a great dt and then when he performs for you, try to change the position he plays? how am i to think they are gods of evaluating talent when they obviously are contradicting

If reading it on the internet is your only source to base your opinion, then..........?

never heard much of him from the guys I talk to, but that doesnt mean you give up on a guy w/ his potential less than a year into his career

How do you read this from Miles re: Davenport

BINGO!! The only place I have heard this is also from Lazare on TB. This seems to happen a lot with his reporting.

If by "happens a lot with his reporting", you mean he is accurate, then I get your point.
It's obvious the staff wanted to move him.
Where else did you get this from? The question is not about Lazare's reporting, he obviously got this information from someone in the know.

Yes! that is what I was saying. Just sounded weird. ;)
He is accurate most of the time, just has a propensity to be overly negative. I like his reporting.

I have no doubt DT is a much greater need than another backup OG next year, and the fact that he was an All-American means he has at least some talent there.
Where will Davenport enter spring on the depth chart at DT? Where would he enter spring as an OG?
Posted on 2/24/10 at 8:00 pm to moneyg
I'm guessing about the same on both accounts.
Not a depth issue, IMO.

DL rotate a hell of a lot more than OL

I understand.
Still, where on the depth chart will he enter at DT vs. OG?

prob 3rd depending on how he developed from his true frosh year going into his first spring. 3rd string DL are more valuable than third string OL
