Ware pounds them, adding to the fatigue factor. Then Ford runs past them. Classic Thunder/Lightning combo really. Blue showed great field vision on his touchdown too.

In the fourth quarter I think , Lee threw to Ware on a screen and he was almost stopped there but he stepped and balanced himself after the hit and almost stepped outside and then got 6 more yards.
Ware has great sense of awareness of the downs and yards as well as balance and determination.

Ford would be starting over Ware if he could pass block and catch like Ware. He definitely has the better vision and speed.
I like Ware though, he isn't just a punisher, he has a great cut and spin move. If he improves his vision, he is going be dominant.

Amazing that they are both just Sophs.
We get to to see this tandem for 2 more years most likely.

Ware's biggest problem, simply put, is that he needs to be a one cut back. He's trying to make too many moves rather than making his initial cut and running downhill. Part of what made Ridely and Scott and Alley and other punishing LSU backs so effective was that they'd make the first guy miss and then immediately start running downhill with a head of steam to take advantage of every yard the defense gave them. There were a few occasions vs. WVU where Ware could've been more decisive and probably missed out on 2-4 yards.
I mostly agree about Ford in terms of visions. He's not nearly the bruiser Ware is, and I think Miles prefers Ware largely because of his ability to finish runs in a way Ford doesn't seem to be able to. But Ford attacks the gap at full speed and makes nice cuts. That's something Ware could definitely improve on. He tapdances at the LOS a bit too long

Ware scares defenses. Small guys are scared to hit him, big guys marvel at his determination.
Ford is a great change of pace.
This is working FLAWLESSLY, please let's not complain about the % carries of our spectacular backfield. We are reaching status of: McFadden/Felix Jones and Cadilac/Ronnie Brown.

I think Ware looks for contact. He made a great run when he spun out of those tackles behingd the LOS but then when he broke into the open he made a bad cut and got tackled by the guy RR was blocking...had he taken that outside he may have scored. RR had him set up to take the sidelines. They make a great combo and should only get better.
If im thinking of the same play, he got tackled cus he went to the outside. If he had cut back in he would have maybe scored. I just saw the play on Palmer and Pollack and rueben was pushing the guy to the outside.

Ridley had his "dancing" moments as well but grew out of it for the most part (I remember 1 in the Cotton Bowl) as he gained experience. I expect the same from Spence. don't forget he hasn't been a RB all that long.

I pointed out this weekend that Ware is the bruising runner like Marion Barber, while Ford is the smooth speedster like Felix Jones.

I would have to watch again but from what I recall he dipped in then cut out rather than just going around RR. RR had outside leverage on the play I am thinking of....but as i said I need to go back and watch it again.

Love Ware, and he is the more complete back right now, but Ford just has a great feel for using his blockers and space in the open field.

Ware turns no gain or a loss into 4 to 6 yard gains.
Ford turns 6 to 9 yard gains into 14 to 18 yard gains.
Both are needed and appreciated.
couldnt have said it better myself.

first, ware was a qb in high school so he has started all of 4 games at rb. given that fact, he looks really good and will get better. ford is very good ONCE HE GETS PAST THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE. ware gets the extra yards and the tough yards and he catches the ball.
ware fits the physical prototype of all the top backs in sec. ford not every down sec back.

I kinda liken Wares style to a tornado wreaking havoc almost with no sense of direction. While Ford seems so calm and his cuts seem to be almost seamless and almost in slow motion.

Ware is an absolute beast, but I sure would love to see him get into the open. He seems to be mauling his way through the defense.
I think he and Ford complement each other extremely well. I don't think Ford would be able to get those 3-4 yds in dogpiles that Ware gets.
I think continuing to use them the way they do will exhaust a lot of defenses. Take Fla and Bama; I still think having both backs playing the rotation they do, will be better than using either back exclusively. They both seem to get their rhythm

Ware is a beast or is it WAR! Ford is a beast of a different sort. Start with Ware and Finish with Ford. Agreed!
Ware just refuses to go down. Ford goes down much easier... he expects to. But Ford seems to have a invisible shield around him that prevents defenders from getting close enough to tackle him sometimes. Its been like that all year. Love it!

Ware - I would hate to have to tackle him, because he would just run me over (pain)
Ford - I wouldn't mind having to tackle him, because I wouldn't have the opportunity to even touch him (no pain)

when they stop pitching the ball to Ware up the middle, he will look like the back that he truly is. That play fricking sucks
