Todd Walker is the best LSU baseball player I’ve ever seen- I’ve been watching LSU baseball since the mid-80’s.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned Brandon Larson yet, but he had one of the best single-season’s I can recall.

Is Crews really that special? Everyone seems to be sucking his dick lately and calling him one of LSU’s best players ever.

He’s going to have a chance to overtake all three year players not named Walker in the LSU career record books in most of the big categories, so yeah he’s pretty damn good.

This is flat out false . There is actually factual data that tells otherwise

I tell you what, I believe Justin Verlander more than you. Go watch the YouTube Show Fastball and get back with me.
There is a segment on Jessie Owens and how much faster track athletes are today. A lot could be attributed to equipment for them. That 60’6” has not changed and outside of 1 year the mound height has not changed.
If there was the same incremental improvement that you’ve seen in every other sport, pitchers should be throwing the ball 120 mph yet none do.
BTW - JUST BECAUSE YOU THROW HARDER DOESNT MEAN YOURE A BETTER PITCHER. Some of those guys were pitching 180 innings per year so they purposefully paced themselves as opposed to going out and throwing hard for 2 innings retard.

Before you TYPE any response as yourself some questions or do some research.
Nolan Ryan threw his last pitch after 27 years, 5000+ Ks, 7 no hitters, averaging 160 innings per season for his CAREER at 98 mph.
Do you even understand WHERE they are taking those readings as opposed to where they used to take them?

The difference is there are not as many rounds of the draft and college was not a viable option to the older guys like today. That all started in the late 80’s when you saw pitchers like Byrd, McDonald and others choose college.

Walker made swinging the bat look effortless.

Here is some research for your dumb arse

Consider some of these are outdated, especially the players throwing 95+ and 100mph pitches.

and 2008 wasn't that long ago. 1985 was a whole different lifetime.

If you were to put the old bats in Crews' hands, he'd put up some absolutely ridiculous numbers.

Walker averaged around .395 for his career with 52 HR in 3 years.

Crews is averaging .355 with 38 HRs and has not finished his second season. Those bats were worth at least an extra 10 HR per year

Walker not having to face the quality of pitching Crews has is probably a bigger factor than the bats.

Todd Walker was a better college player than Crews.

I think Crews projects better at the pro level based on his physical attributes.

Yes, that is absolutely my quote. Please point out where I said it wasn’t good or learn how to read. Thanks

Where would Crews be batting only, if the make up of the bats were that of the Gorilla ball. Todd was overall player as good as anyone to wear the P&G.
P.S. I mostly hate these threads, they tend to bring out negativity towards the other player involved.

NONE OF THAT MEANS A DAMN THING. Now show average innings pitched.
Like I said NONE ALIVE TODAY would come close to Ryan for 9 innings.

It is about the how hard you throw for NINE INNINGS. What you are saying is none could throw that hard. fricking Guidry SAT AT 95 as did Ben and others. It didn’t mean they could not throw harder.

5,714 career strikeouts
7 career no-hitters

27 years and threw his last pitch 98 WITH A HURT UCL. Sit at 98 for 27 years

You people are ONLY LOOKING AT PARTIAL INFORMATION.

Ryan's arm gave out in Seattle on September 22, 1993, when he tore a ligament. The injury ended his career two starts earlier than planned, at age 46. Ryan briefly attempted to pitch past the injury, and he threw one additional pitch after tearing his ligament. With his injured arm, his final pitch was measured at 98 miles per hour (158 km/h).
