I might have been drinking too much but didn’t seem like we saw as much first down pass, second down run. Also not as many of those WR swing/screen passes I hate
With out OL, we have to throw those passes some. They worked really well against Clemson. I hate the other "horizontal" passes more.

I agree he still made plenty of mistakes but the OPs point, last night was improvement overall.

He was better but the short yardage run calls are out of this world bad.

No one would be saying a damn thing today if the final score was 40 to 10.
Doesn’t have to be 40. If we score a TD on the fumble into the endzone, score a TD instead of getting picked at the 1, and kick a FG instead of getting picked in the red zone, we would have scored 34 points. A 34-10 win is a dominating win and everyone would have been happier

Agree...the play calling seemed much more fluid. The turnovers masked what otherwise would have been a very good night

A lot of it isn’t Sloan. He can’t make nuss throw an accurate pass.

Play calling wasn’t that bad last night. Hilton dropped pass, Durham fumbles going in to score, nuss pick at the goal line. Sometimes the players need to make plays

No he doesn’t

Nuss TOs were the issue with offense last night and throw in a fumble, play calling was ok, could have done without that Nuss QB sneak also

Definitely a step in the right direction

yeah he was great , cant score from near goal line on 1st down what an embarrassment!!!

Yes it was better, but one of the 3 and outs was from a run, run, pass from 3rd and long really pissed me off. I liked the direct snap as well, nice wrinkle. They need to almost eliminate the RPO though, very little point when your potato QB can't run or process the coverages.

I disagree in regards to the clock management. In the end when you had the lead, you passed 3 times. Gave them the ball back and only burned barely 2 mins off. Then you get the ball again and throw for 7 times. Giving them the ball again with 2 mins left.
I had no problem with playing to win. Passing game needs to execute those plays.

Players did not execute in at least 10 well called plays .

the line can't block
Ran for 160 and gave up no sacks. They blocked plenty good enough last night.

Everyone, including me, booed on that 3rd and goal when we ran it from the 5. Later I realized we couldn’t risk letting Nuss throw a pick. We had to make it a two score game.

I agree. I hate Sloan more than anyone but last night wasn't horrible. Still not excited with the red zone calls but it was better. If the qb can catch his head, we may have a chance.

If you recall, LSU went 4 wide, and spread it out. Then Nuss ran a sneak, fumbled and lost 2 yds. There were immediately some folks bitching that we need to go heavy and packed if we run that play...
but the concept is, you pull at least 4 defenders out by doing so. And you have a backer watching the RB, instead of instantly crashing the line. So that makes it our 5 O Lineman against at most 6 defenders, unsure where Nuss will go (straight, or lean left or right), with the RB coming to push from behind; should be 7 on 7 and room to squeeze in. Nuss just dropped the ball.

Yes did well. 50/50 run and pass lately. Without turnovers they score over 30
Exactly, and the TOs were complete player errors. BK isn’t out there telling our guys to fumble in the end zone.
