my fav sloan run play is the RPO where our tackles drop back like they are pass blocking then Nuss hands it off. Then the two DTs just cut inside the retreating tackles and hit the RB for a loss.

We have a very bland offense. I don't think Sloan knows how to see what the defense is doing and attack that.
I also think some of it may be that the formation/play calls are very basic and they are relying on Nuss to get the offense in to the right play at the LOS. There is often a LOT of discussion, looking around, etc at the LOS for this team. The problem is (a) it doesn't appear everyone is getting on the same page as much as they should and/or (b) Nuss isn't reading it out and getting LSU into the right play or executing it when he does.

Welcome to Joe Sloan and his scheme. Everyone wants to blame Kelly (he deserves a ton of blame), but Sloan just sucks as a playcaller. Talent alone made him look mediocre and not as awful as he really is.
He wants to try and put up video game numbers instead of running a balanced offense. He wants to be "unpredictable" by using varying run blocking schemes and RPO, but is as predictable as they come.
He refuses to use formation changes to disguise play calls.
He is just that bad.

So we want our lineman who can't block face up to pull.
Genius.
Genius.

EXACTLY....and I can't say this loud enough. Our offensive coaching staff starting with BK is as bad as there is in any level of football. It is very difficult for even talented players to overcome this level of incompetence.

This offense is a worse version of 2020 LSU to show you just how awful it is. We didn't have a lot of creativity in the running game that year either. If BK or anyone had gone and watched videos of that team, they'd see the similarities and that it doesn't work in the SEC.

Not just basic but old which makes us very predictable and unable to adjust on the fly. This is a Brian Kelly issue and unless he’s willing to get someone in here and give him freedom we won’t see much change.

That's a huge thing and it impacts the rest, but I think our other position coaches are fine...and I think the complaints about Sloan from a playcalling standpoint are overstated. People just don't realize how limited you are as a playcaller when you can't run the ball...and when you can't pass protect consistently. The options are limited.

Good point, we saw a lot of complaints about too many quick throws to the boundary last week but anytime we ran routes past 10 yards the QB was getting lit up. We don’t have time to do much downfield.

The offensive play calling and the overall OL play have both been atrocious.

Right.
And, at 2nd and 7, you can push the ball downfield a bit because of the situation.
On 2nd and 17, this team is pretty much dead.
Sloan simply can't let this team get behind the sticks.

The OC is clueless. There is no way in hell he should have been retained.

I agree. Have we ran a sweep or pulled a guard? Seems everything is ran between the tackles.
Yeah, they try to run between the tackles but the running back has no faith that they can open a hole, so they try to go to the outside on some runs and still get stuffed.

When you have a quarterback who refuses to run this is what happens.

Because when 5 stars come to LSU, they become 1 stars

Joe Brady will probably get an NFL HC gig soon, but that’s the type of HC we need. Kelly doesn’t control one side of the ball, and relies on his coordinators. He’s Midwest Ed O except he can’t recruit as well.
I can buy this thought that Joe Brady might be at Penn State: Joe Brady to Penn State, thanks to Bills owner?
