He'd be a huge improvement over what we have now (Orgeron), and quite probably over what we had before (Miles).

Funny thing is, I think his success at A&M has restored some of his luster. You could see the process of building that culminated with last year's team; some losses this year but shows he can still be 'single game' dangerous with the Alabama win.

It would be more of a reversion to the early Miles years, before he got afraid of the forward pass. We'd drop the 'pass every down' offense Orgeron has brought, in favor of a more balanced attack. And I think we'd see a big step up in defense, assuming he can bring in the guys he wants.

I thought he topped out with FSU but he did just beat bama. He is one of the few coaches with a NC

I’d honestly be pretty ticked. I’d rather take a chance on Napier or Chadwell than pursue Jimbo.

It’s time to move on to new faces and ideas. Grabbing Jimbo is essentially settling in my opinion.

Would be the most “meh” hire of all time. Would rather keep O and try again next year.

While this is true and we would improve, we would have 0 shot at a title and likely would never even win the West. Not unless he lasts until the tide turns toward pro-style offenses again, because he’s never changing.

All things considered, there are several guys I would take over him.

Nope, do not want

If my choices are Orgeron or Fisher, yeah give me Fisher… but Fortunately, we have a lot more options than just those 2

Fisher is a decent coach, certainly not worth $10m+ a year tho. Id be very surprised if he ever wins another title with his offense.

Not great. I don’t think he’s a very good head coach. I’d take him as a coordinator.

I would be very disappointed. Theres absolutely no way that Jimbo is going to be the guy anyway. He knows that the production hes having at texas am would get his arse fired at LSU. Texas am doesnt have the lofty (but realistic) expectations that LSU has, so hes comfortable there collecting his fat, unwarranted, guaranteed paychecks. Hell, hes damn near making saban money while producing kevin sumlin level success. Dont forget that sumlin had very similar records and also beat bama once in his time there. Jimbo has it made in the shade there and he knows it.

They also don’t have the talent LSU has

Jimbo would kill it here
And probably take a big discount to come here

He knows he would win multiple
natties here

I wouldn’t hate it but I feel like Jimbo’s chance here came and went. He should have come after the 2015 season but we screwed that up
