MM’s problem isn’t people not watching. His problem is people have watched his team and coaching.

However, what we've put on the court over the last 20 years has been disgraceful, apart from a few Brady and Wade years its all been shite.

If you haven't watched LSU basketball in 5 years, I care 0 about your opinion on LSU basketball. You are not a LSU basketball fan.
What if those same fans had been watching and buying tickets since the 1980's? I think it's easy to see that the large majority of the fanbase knows that the product that the current coach puts on the floor stinks. I don't blame anyone for "not watching" because there is not much to be excited about since Wade was let go.

Not sure if this is a terrible troll attempt or you are just too dense to see the reality of the current basketball program situation...

There are quite a few Masochists out there. More power to them. It’s been so painful, I catch highlights after the SEC schedule starts.

I’ve been to a handful of games in the current coaching era.

He either needs a few truckloads of NIL money or he needs to go.

You sound like a tool. This argument is fine if it’s you and your 20-year old friend shooting the shite in the back of a lecture. Once you have adult responsibilities, you realize there is a finite amount of time to devote to sports. Franchises and programs are essentially competing for your attention. If I have a choice between watching LSU baseball, Olympic hockey, a big Spurs game, football playoffs, or LSU basketball…LSU hoops is eliminated first. I keep up and watch when it’s convenient and check box scores, etc…but choosing to watch something more entertaining or fulfilling obligations as a parent instead of seeing LSU battle South Carolina for last doesn’t make me less of a fan.

Many people think that big NIL money = winning and coaching has little to do with the results. If that were the case Johnny Jones would have won big at LSU. Brian Kelly would still be the football coach. Kentucky basketball would be angling for the No.1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament instead of trying to make sure they don't fall to the 8/9 seed line, and Auburn would not be fighting just to maintain an above .500 record a year after reaching the Final Four.

Refusing to make a coaching change because you don't want to pay the expense of a buyout while simultaneously increasing the NIL funding to the bad coach is an exceedingly dumb economic move. It's not going to produce a big ROI...if any. A good coach is FAR more valuable than a few million more in NIL investment.

So donors, if you are out there listening and haven't paid attention for the last 4 years (which is a distinct possibility). If you were planning to increase your NIL contribution to this head coach...STOP! Put that increase towards the buyout/hire of a new HC. That will go much further in giving this program a fighting chance to be successful.

It's like a shitty golfer increasing the amount of mulligans he buys for his team in a tournament from $50 to $200 because he thinks it will give him a better chance to win the tournament. That $150 increase would go much further towards winning if the golfer used it to pay a 5 handicap to join the team instead of the shitty golfer just giving himself more shots...the majority of which will still be bad.

Every other coach at LSU gets treated like a highly paid professional that is expected to live up to high expecations....except McMahon...who gets treated like a make-a-wish kid living out his life long dream of coaching an SEC basketball team.

I have been watching Men's BB for 75 years. We have had some great players over the years, but never could win the big ones. Good coaches, players, and still never could get there. I don't think we ever will because we just aren't a men's BB college. We're football, baseball, gymnastics and just can't put together the winning thing for men's BB. I wish we could, but I don't see a great picture for men's BB. But I'm a diehard LSU fan and still watch anything that's a Tiger.

If McMahon is retained, then this is 100% correct. There is no logical way to argue otherwise, because ANY other coach at LSU in ANY other sport at LSU with such a dismal record would have been let go years ago. If MM is retained, the AD should issue a press release saying "Coach McMahon will continue to be the LSU basketball coach...because we don't care if the program wins or loses.....season tickets for 26-27 are now on sale!"

If he is retained it is the biggest F U to the true fans possible. I have been a season ticket holder since the 80’s but I’m done if they bring MM back. I feel like a masochist sitting through the last 4 seasons. This is the final straw. Would be like the athletic department just spit in our collective faces.
