This is what makes me hopeful that it is a scheme & coaching issue. There is ZERO reason to struggle to run the ball with that offensive line from 2024. I still think we should get some veteran proven pieces in the portal but scheme has to help Curne, Thomas, Echols, Mubenga, etc. and hope that a couple of them become dudes.

agree and a couple of very poor olinemen on the field at the same time. Defenses will quickly learn from film where the weak links are and attack those weaknesses. LSU had more than anyone else I've seen in a long time, thus making everyone look really bad with them. Some are salvageable and some aren't. About 50/50 imho.

That’s just an objective incorrect statement. There isn’t a position on the field more impacted by positional coaching than OL. Period.

Most QBs and skill players are getting basic technical instruction in camps from a young age. The vast majority of OL come into College with only the most basic knowledge of technique and in need of a lot of body work. They also haven’t seen anything like the guys they will be lining up across from in the SEC except for one guy here and there.

I think there are better foundational pieces on the roster than we realize. Let’s assume Moore comes back as the starting C. Feel good there. 3 guards of Echols, Curne, and Solomon Thomas. Curne and Thomas need to be developed but naturally strong guys who could project well in a Kiffin run heavy offense. Big thing for those guys will be conditioning, especially with the tempo. Ory I think showed with his opportunity that he’s worth continuing to develop. I think between he and Adams let’s say competing at RT you feel good there. Better than what you saw this year at RT. Would be great to get a legit NFL prospect at LT in the portal.

This is a spot-on assessment. These are the core guys that have shown promise. Keep most if not all of them and a few of the younger guys on the bench. Then spend big on 3 or 4 (depending on if Moore stays) potential anchors to solidify the OL. With better technique and instruction, that could turn into a bass arse OL.

Our o-line was bad when Jayden Daniels was here. Why do you think he always had to scramble and lead the team in rushing yards.

Those dudes put it on film for a season. Eye test at best their 2nd string until they prove they aren't. Kiffin isn't going to play with the o-line, I trust that.

Coach wrongRob would be all in for new legit SEC linemen. Hopefully get lucky and get a couple w/bad attitudes.

True, but listening to Rich Dickson talk on Tuesday with Hanny they clearly were being taught awful technique. That is going to cause problems.

Here's my question. How does a college O Line coach at an elite program not at least know proper technique?

How is proper technique not like the #1 prerequisite for any O Line coach in the country?

No he doesn't. His OL's at FSU were very bad. All you MA's need to seriously raise your standards of execution.

Been saying that all year and one of the reasons why I think Kevin Mawae may be the king of Oline technique. He has to be as he was an undersized center that was in NFL Hall of Fame. Who could know more than he knows about technique. We hired Davis, so hiring Mawae couldn't possibly be anything but a major upgrade. I hope one day LSU opens its eyes and gives the man an opportunity to be a great oline coach.....at LSU.
