Yeah and Les blamed a thumb injury at the SEC media days later that year as to why he didn't play Mett and at the same media days Mett said he never had a thumb injury...

They were but we did beat them in Tuscaloosa. Les not giving us a chance didn't help things but I don't think it would've mattered that night. McCarron was money and their big wrs(Norwood I think) took advantage of Mathieu. Props to that staff for devising a winning game plan.

The question should be why did the coaches come up with a game plan, with new plays, and spent all that time practicing it, only to abandon the plan basically right before the national title game. T-Bob has said repeatedly that they practiced a different game and did not understand why the plan was ditched right before the game. Doesn't make sense.

Les struggled with trying to run a competent offense. LSU had Reuben Randle and OBJ but didn’t have a QB to get the ball to them.

Very gracious. Where did the other 3 come from?
I recall only one to Byrd in '08....which was well diluted by a +50yd pic-6.

No he didn’t.

He had 1 TD, in 08. When he also threw 4 INTs.

He had two picks on seven attempts in 2011.

Lee, bless his heart, would have made 1/9 even worse.

If there is any complaint, it was not just giving Mett a shot and just going four or five wide after the shovel pick late in the 3rd.

It was still only 12-0 at that point, although it felt like it was 100-0, so one big play could have shockingly turned it into a game again.

Although Mett clearly wasn’t the guy he was in 2013 yet, as it took most of 2012 before he fully matured into the passer he ended up as.

Still, it would have been something.

Alabama’s cheerleaders

Those Alabama cheerleaders have legs like thoroughbreds.

I would really like to see them in the Golden Girls uniforms, or in some tight yoga pants.

What game are you even talking about? I think you must have had one those Covid19 fever dreams. Can play real bad tricks on the mind.

Because Jefferson could run the option and Lee couldn’t and everyone including Alabama’s cheerleaders knew how to stop it.

Only problem is Jefferson would get outside the hashes before he made a decision......Terrible coaching. It happens when your fat OLine coach is upgraded to OC and let’s Les call the plays.....

That’s sorry sack of shite is now at Ohio St pulling in “Studs”, pun intended......he always came in second down here

I used to think about the 2011 season and the 2012 national championship constantly. I haven’t thought about it once since we won the championship this year until I saw this thread. It’s good to be back
