Les took over a loaded program. Jimbo took over a steaming pile of shite.

Talent wise, yes. Saban's last year he was 8-5. We were trending down. FSU had talent too. Just antiquated coaching on both sides of the ball.

I fully expect Les to be here until he decides to retire, when that is who really knows. That being said, would Jimbo be on the short list of replacements and what would it take to get him if there were mutual interest.

He ain't leaving FSU. His ties with the Bowden family are lifelong. Plus, why leave the acc for the sec? Way easier path to the playoff.

Fisher has lost to an unranked team every single season he has been at fsu. He lost 10 games his first 3 years. They beat Clemson bad and now people wish we had him...lol grass is always greener.

We were 9-3 (after losing the bowl game on a hail mary) with bad quarterback play. One of those quarterbacks was a freshman and would eventually become the #1 pick in the draft. Nobody was saying LSU was on the #decline.

Jimbo stayed for two more years before he finally had enough of Miles' meddling and bolted to FSU for the same position.

Exactly, he did not leave LSU for a HC job. He went as an OC and some potential to be coach in waiting... which panned out for him.

It is a valid reason as being a head coach requires skills, delegating and time management that you don't get in other positions

Or until somebody figures out they do not have to renew his contract every year. And can opt to just let it expire.

Won't happen. As long as Coach Miles makes money for LSU, he'll be the coach. Coach Miles can lose 2-3 games per year and still be a good earner, so, he'll be at LSU for as long as he pleases.

LSU football has good coordinators at OC and DC, so, let's see what the next few years bring.

I believe Saban recommended Houston Nutt.
Saban was playing a 'long game' trying to destroy LSU because he knew he was going to Bama and beating Jimbo would be easy.

So Jimbo finally has a good season at FSU, and now all of a sudden the rant wants Jimbo back?

I guess first I would like to know are you smoking crack or is it you just don't follow or watch college football.

Since I do follow and watch college football I would characterize 12-2 season with an Orange Bowl victory as successful "that was last year" and I although I would not consider 9-4 in 2011 as successful "obviously" they still won their bowl game "against ND thankfully I hate ND" and 10-4 in 2010 his first year at FSU they are nothing to sneeze about. Considering all the experts have raved at how well FSU is recruiting under Fisher.

I always thought we let him slip away, to me it definitely looks like we did.

I was referring to time management as it relates to all the extra duties a head coach has (radio show, interviews, booster club meetings, general PR stuff, etc

I was one of the many who thought LSU should get an established head coach. Plus I never though Jimbo was an exceptional OC. I think he's good at QB coaching but his offenses did not impress. His years with Miles reaffirmed that for me and I didn't miss him after 2006. Amazing how much better the offense was in 2007 once he left. With Jimbo, 2007 offense wouldn't have been able to carry the team.

He is doing good at FSU now, even if it took a few years to get it going.

Jimbo had three QB's at LSU that got a chance in the NFL. One is still hanging on. He has had two at Fla St that are still starting. He has another that will soon be there. How many has LSU developed since he left.

As to him moving to FSU, remember, he's from the Bowden coaching tree.

Jimbo would have taken the HC job at UAB if it wasn't sabotaged by Bama. Jimbo wanted out of Baton Rouge and away from Miles. He would have crawled naked to Tallahassee.
