we are recruiting QBs better.

Franks is a top end QB
Harris is a big talent.

Both are better than anyone we brought in after Mett

yeah Harris looked good

this i can see is confusing.

in 2008 we went from a 5th year senior to a RS Fr/ True Fr. and struggled
In 2014 we went from a 5th year senior to a True Soph/True Fr.

Its because we don't consistently recruit guys to take over in their their year.

We we have harris for another 2-5 (realistically lets say 3)
that gives Franks 1-3 years to develop before he has to play.

This is good

References to the spring game are so irrelevant, it makes me want to puke. Desperate... reaching... in denial....

So there's no chance that our former NFL offensive coordinator/QB coach can help improve our sophomore/junior quarterbacks? Or that having a full year under their belts won't help? It takes much more than talent to be a good quarterback. Experience is key. Do you think Peyton Manning was dominant in his rookie year in the NFL?

If they both stay and neither are bust. I think Harris is going to the NFL after his LSU career.
Franks is not out of High School yet and not on campus. Remember Ryan P. and Russell S. both highly rated and neither made any real impact on the field at QB.

Good reason to sign 2 qb's this year.

Jesus F Christ!! Mett improved because he went from having Stud as an OC, who was abysmal, to having Cam.

Jennings has been in Cam's system for two full years. You're not going to see that kind of jump.

Whether Harris improves a lot will depend more on him and his maturity as opposed to Cam...the latter is doing his best, you can be sure of that...his job and a lot of money depend on it...and his track record with QBs is outstanding...we will find out this year if Harris has what it takes...and no one on here knows for sure what will be the outcome...NO ONE! But the running game and the Defense should create an environment for success...the ball is in his court!!! How fast he develops is on him alone...jmho

"The downside of a young quarterback is he spends a lot of his time thinking what he's got to do and what everybody else on offense has got to do instead of thinking what the defense he's facing is trying to do.

"Our guys know our offense now. Once you learn the offense, it gives you more time to spend reading the defense. So now it's 'where's that free safety, what's the stance of that corner - is it man or zone, where's that linebacker's eyes looking, what's the front?'

"Because they can now focus on the defense, they can lead the guys around them.

"If you watched our quarterbacks last season, they were spending so much time thinking about what they had to do. In high school, they led their teams because they knew their offenses.

Next year we'll be saying, "If we only had linebackers the purple and gold era would be upon us."

massive attack got the most up votes I have ever seen, and I appreciate his post.

I think we should start a prayer circle.

I bet 100 people would join it with me.

Here, let me start: Dear Lord, we humbly beseech thee, and beg on our knees, that Harris sees the light this summer, and with poise and courage, brings LSU an undefeated season capped off by a thrashing of THE Ohio State U in the champ game.
Let there be 40 points vs Bama too, and scores in every imaginable manner, including but not limited to: 100 yard TD on opening kickoff by LF and never being headed. Please and thank you.

The difference between last year and Mett's first year >>>>>>>> the difference between Mett's 1st and 2nd season.

I'm going to mark you off as just plain stupid.

It means poindexter, that when a ZM leaves, someone with some amount of talent and understanding of the playbook steps in, takes the reins, and successfully leads them team. The dropoff should not be from the penthouse to the very bottom of the outhouse.

ryan p had off the field issue, and is the reason we went to a championship game in 2007

Shepard was an athlete.

what a pitifull and loser mentality to have. So you want LSU to strive for average. Great idea, another middle of the pack finish. Glad the coaches don't share your perspective and are trying to bring out the best in our QB's

It's pitiful to win games with a dominant defense, a dominant running game, and an average QB?

How many CFB championships have been won with this exact formula?

Okay, if we are supposed to give the Spring game credence, then what I saw does not really make me jumping up and down and excited about 2015 quarterback play.

BH and AJ both did the same thing they did last season, a lot of locking on to receivers, even when they had time, and then take off running.

Same thing with JJ, though JJ was probably a better scrambler.

But bottom line: it's frustrating when, with all the big-time playmakers LSU's offense has on the field at RB and WR, the ball is much of the time in the hands of a QB who is running.

Hell, let's just run a wing-T and put Fournette at QB.
