You would cut a kid over shoplifting? Im in law enforcement and ask you why? He is very young still and is allowed to make mistakes. WTH is wrong with you?
I would not cut him if this was a first offense, but I'd run the hell out of him and try to figure out why this happened.

Was it crab legs? OMG tell me it wasn’t crab legs. Wow! The QB race thickens.

I’m in favor, Lester, but that would have no effect on this; he’s already being paid.
Paid by who
Does he even have the means to be home? Why is he in Baton Rouge during Christmas . That is sad

He is just training for a career in politics. If his hands don't improve, he knows he has to make a career move.

Depends on what he was stealing...if it was athletic equipment to make him a better RB then give em a slap on the wrist along as it's under like 70$..if it's a ps4 controller cut his arse. If it's a butane lighter to fire up a crack rock, make em crab walk backwards till he pukes then cut his arse
Cant believe you actually wrote that. You sound crazy

Ehh it's a misdemeanor. LSU has no problem getting their RBs off on those charges.

Who hasn’t forgotten to scan that rotisserie chicken on the self checkout from time to time?

The dumb crap I was lucky to not get caught doing...
The responses in this thread are just loony. Best case, misunderstanding. Worst case - he did something dumb, and if you're going to do something dumb, make it something really insignificant like this and do it when you're 18. If you own it and grow from it, it's just part of your good story by the time you're a senior.

this is why you pay college athletes

For one, I think it's best to get the entire story first before dragging a guy's name through the mud. But I've noticed that a lot on this site. So quick to judge these kids without knowing everything. And second, it's a misdemeanor charge. Not saying that it isn't serious in it's own right, but I also heard it was a misunderstanding. Until the actual facts come out about it, let's see what the police, Walmart and Coach O thinks about it.
Lastly, what the hell does BLM and this other shite has to do with this. Some of you on here with your sideways racist and revolting remarks like people don't notice where you're going with it. You know ZERO about the kid and make assumptions about his character when you know nothing of the circumstances. And then you wonder why they say what they say about fans. Not saying it's a good look, but damn let's wait until everything is out there before doing this. And leave your petty politics and ignorant bantering out of this. It's stupid and pointless and has no place here.

Since when is there an excuse to deliberately commit crime?

There's no excuse to commit crime under any circumstances.

They have free food for every meal by simply walking to the 5 star chef ops building, clothing, shelter, school, books. They also get a 500-600 monthly stipend on top of that. What on earth is left to expense.
I played d1 sport and thought it was great to get some free clothes, meal here and there, and tuition. What these guys get is unreal when you assess the dollar value. Thats not counting the nutritionist, tutors on hand , etc.
