She just struggled badly. Actually defended super well but she turned it over the two times she got the ball
I think she moves her feet well for her size , definitely needs to work on her hands and not rush her shots .

I’m pulling for her, but she has Jose Vargas level hands of stone.

she must have very small hands for her size, because she really does struggle to hold on to the ball, even when not being harassed.

Fouls and bad hands she also feels the need to put the ball and the floor instead of just going straight up with it. We continue to struggle finding a big. She is not what I thought she would be.

Too slow and skills are limited to excel at the SEC level.

If she plays decent defense and rebounds when we have matchup problems with bigs, then she will be doing her part. That is all we need from her to be a value add.

Kate is going to play varying minutes depending on the matchup and how well she is playing. She played a very good game in the road win at Oklahoma. Her size helps against teams with dominant post players like OU"s Beers.

4 pts 10 rebounds in 15 minutes. I will take that against UF
15 pts 5 reb against AM 19 min
9 pts 7 reb against OK Played 24 min
Did not do much or play much against TX 8 min
Same for GA 10 min
You can't just watch one game kids. Kim uses people the way she thinks is best. You are seeing this in every game.

Give the girl a break. She wasn't great but did ok when she was in there. She is really active and hustling which she wasn't at the start of the season. Joyner played her best game of the season IMO and Koval may not have looked good in comparison but look at the stats. Koval tied for most rebounds at 10 with Joyner in half the time. She did have 2 turnovers but our three "stars" had 3 each. So ease up until she does have a bad game. This wasn't one of them.

My sentiments exactly!
She actually IS very skilled in the paint, but you can tell she's not used to the speed and physicality of the SEC. Remember, she's only a sophomore playing in her first season in the SEC. I think she'll be fine. In fact, I think she'll surprise many in this thread by the end of the season. She has shown flashes of her offensive skillset in a number of games, just not consistently. She will be fine. Remember, everyone was criticizing Jada Richard at the beginning of this season and she's now settled in to her role as the starting PG.

Koval is way better then Del Rosario

Anyone who can't see this hasn't watched either one play. Del Rosario is picking up DNP-CD in SEC play, she is not even in Vanderbilt's rotation.

I’d rather Del Rosario
She still hasn't gotten back down the court on defense..... since game 1.

The coaches obviously see something in her , Mulkey said Koval is her best post defender and Redus thinks she’s a future pro. I think her junior year her offense will blossom .

Like Delrosario she has very eak hands. Cant hold the ball when players are grabbing at it. She is definitely more athletic tho
