Jerrell Powe committed to "The University of LSU" at an all-star game. The only problem was that LSU hadn't offered him a scholarship.

All those Facebook moms that didn’t want Les to go almost sent us back to the 90s.
And the Moses family.

Some posters here get their panties in a wad over others shite talking Miles.

But it was perfectly ok when a decommitted recruit and his father are giving interviews about how LSU should retain him.

He’s not any better at that than coaching.

Miles inherited a great situation and, to his credit, he had some success at maintaining it for about 8 years. He kept LSU from the suffering seen at USC, Miami, Texas, Tennessee, et al after they lost or fired their successful coaches. However, I don’t think he would have succeeded at any of those programs. Michigan dodged a bullet when he wasn’t hired. Miles never had it in him to be a great head coach.
He underachieved at LSU given what he inherited, resources and advantages of being the only P5 program in a talent rich state.

I haven’t missed him. I don’t look back fondly on his time here.

Les Miles needed to be fired, but that man carried the torch for LSU football, never got the team in any hot water with the NCAA, and recruited with the best. He was not the best coach, but he still reps LSU to this day. There’s no reason for guys on here that can’t understand a Cover-2 to shite on LM.

I wish for nothing but losses for Les as a coach. He was the most miserable coach an LSU fan could ever ask for.

I wish him health and happiness outside of coaching.

Maybe covered later in the thread, but Kansas had 40 players not dress for undisclosed (likely COVID) reasons.

let the excuses begin.

I’d guess Coastal had some guys out too.

And remember Kansas lost to Coastal last year too, at home, and Coastal ended the year 5-7.

No Covid excuse last year.

I don't really understand this. Some years ms has more players drafted than Louisiana, meaning there is enough nfl talent to spread amongst schools.

Look at Florida, you can spread the nfl talent evenly amongst the schools and still have every school with more nfl talent than the entire state if Louisiana.

That game was not even close. He needs to coach better when you can not out athlete everyone coaching is a must. Miles was never good at coaching up a team.

And WTF have YOU ever done for LSU? Or in any other facet of life? Where have YOU ever overachieved for LSU?

I'd like to know what you perpetual losers that love to crap on Les have ever done that brought honor to LSU.

The man represented LSU honestly and honorably. He's gone let it go.

If there was some way to "air out this dirty laundry" in private about Coach Miles, I would do that. It's just football talk and should not be taken personally. If I were to personally be acquainted with Coach Miles, I would certainly defer to his LSU Greatness compared to mine. He will always be one of LSU football's greatest head coaches.

When I bash Coach Miles, it's only from the relatively uninformed perspective of a fan. Fans are wrong all of the time. As a fan, if I were to blurt out criticism of Miles in a bar during one of the Miles LSU games, I'd do so respectfully and I'd gladly listen to counter-arguments, of which there are many strong ones.

Coach Miles's tenure at LSU left me with the impression that the game had passed him by. I often wondered whether that was the case even when he was hired at LSU. My impression was that he is too stubborn to upgrade his coaching acumen. Sometimes I wondered whether he was just too dumb or brain damaged and maybe not so stubborn. I thought that his teams always seemed undisciplined because they always seemed to draw many procedural penalties.

In short, I had a lot of bad impressions and opinions about him, but, I always concede that I could be wrong about all of them. I have never wavered from my position that Coach Miles is one of LSU's best head coaches of all time, and he will always be so. He is beloved, honored, respected and esteemed among the LSU nation - and he earned all of that many times over.

But, I did get tired of his poorly-coached and undisciplined football teams.

I still love Coach Miles.

PS I know that your post was not directed at me. I simply took the opportunity to expand on my personal opinion of one of the Greatest LSU Men of all time.

Because LSU and all the 10-win settlers need to be reminded (often) NEVER to do this again!!!
