When you have a full ride to Harvard, you go to Harvard. If you can play football, the NFL will find you. Worst case scenario, you have a degree from Harvard.
2. Even if he'd gone to Harvard, highly doubtful he'd have stayed. His history shows that he was chasing something other than an education:
LSU (2016)
East Mississippi (2017)
Missouri (2018)
Nicholls (2019–2021)
Incarnate Word (2022)

Harvard does not offer athletic scholarships, are you saying his family finances were such that he qualified for 100% financial aid ?
Have you heard of Academic scholarships?

Really, REALLY smart kid and hard working. I'm sure he'll end up being a good coach.
Should have a better degree, but that topic has been discussed.

They get around it with grants, academic scholarships (called something different, but have a merit based component), financial aid, and a combination of the above. In the NIL era, Ivy League could actually make a big leap forward with the amount of money their alumni have if they committed to it.
I have a good buddy that played basketball at Princeton for "almost" free and he likely would not have gotten into Princeton without being a really good basketball player.

They do, they just work a bit differently. Certainly have a merit component to it.
Not going to get one if you're rich though, that's true.

Yes. Really they’re based on needs or means. However, there are outside scholarships based on academics and other factors.
Admittedly, I don’t know how much money his family was making, but grants aren’t necessarily needs based.
Believe me, there are ways to do it that don’t require you to get into debt if you want to do there. Especially if he’s smart enough to get in.
It’s about what is important to the person. (Personally, for an undergraduate degree, I’d go to a prestigious state school if I had been in his shoes)

I’m still pissed that his handlers directed him to LSU. When you have a full ride to Harvard, you go to Harvard. If you can play football, the NFL will find you. Worst case scenario, you have a degree from Harvard. Shame on his handlers.
I don’t think Lindsey was looking to go to Wall Street. If so, go Harvard. If looking to major in football = go to P5. Lindsey was 18 when he went to college. Man makes his own decisions

If you can play, the NFL will find you. If you have the chance to go to an ivy, you go to an ivy and play ball too.

Presidents come from Ivys except sleepy Joe and Reagan. The elite intend to keep the that way. A commoner or baw will never be president.

Don’t think training facilities, level of coaching, offensive systems, talent you’re surrounded by at major big time football schools isn’t superior to Ivy? Not just playing. you don’t think the connections you make at these big time schools help you get into coaching? So much of coaching is connections. Similarly Ivy will help you with business connections if looking to go that route
Can you go to Ivy and then NFL or coaching, sure. Better prepared to do so after a big time program? I think so. Much like you can go Ohio State to Goldman Sachs … but would be easier after Harvard

fricking criminal how his handlers treated him
Maybe hes not traditionally "job minded". We live in a world where we think the ivy league guarantees something. Do a Google search on ivy league salaries. It's a job. Scott looks like he's already positioned to make more than the average ivy/college graduate. He chose right for him

I'm not assuming anything, you are. I'm saying we don't know his situation so why judge it? Everything I said before could very well be true, neither of us know. Idk why you think we know better than him about his own life choices. You don't have all the information and you're coming off as quite arrogant
Let me compare it to someone with the average middle class lifestyle: go work a salary job for the guaranteed $100-200k vs taking a risk and opening your own business
