CMM is due one upset for the year. I am waiting for it.

Yes. Anyone who follows the team even a little bit knows that

The mental gymnastics many of you do to support and excuse McFailure is unbelievable, honestly.

ESPN’s “bubble watch” has LSU in the “Long Shot” category. Which is defined in the article as teams that would need to outperform expectations or benefit from chaos.
I hope that helps

Arkansas in the PMAC is the most likely candidate for this year's upset

I stopped caring after the Kentucky loss. I watch the games still, but in no way do i show any emotions. I actually bet on the other team, sit back and enjoy the game.

7 of the next 9 games are against teams currently "in" the tournament. So, I guess, theoretically, LSU has plenty of opportunity to play themselves "in"...even though there is nothing to suggest that is likely to happen.
Here's a wild prediction. LSU wins the next two (UGA and Arkansas). The "excitement" returns. Certain fans are pumping their chest that this is the start of the run to the tournament and, possibly, and extension for McMahon....then LSU loses the next 4 (@ Tenn, @ Tex, Alabama, @ Ole Miss) to put the nail in the coffin.

Would that hypothetical be mcmahons first and only 3 game win streak in conference?
Posted on 2/4/26 at 9:21 am to josh336
Yea with 16 wins over 4 years not many opportunities for 3 game win streaks

Most interesting outcome would be we squeak in to the playoff game and make the decision tough for the AD on how to proceed from there. Ride out an underwhelming performer coming off his best year which is barely acceptable or fire the coach you chose to hire who has been terrible coming off his most successful season.

Why do you feel the need to pile on? We all already know this. Thread is pointless, OP is an attention whore
Well, LSU won Saturday (you know that "monumental" win he sarcastically referred to), so he was a little bummed out. So likely that's why we have this thread..

Why would I be bummed out about LSU winning?
All I was saying was even after that 16th total SEC win in Year 4, we’re still not projected to be in the field according to multiple outlets.
I did by no means say we’re are out of the running.

IMO, the analysis comes down to two questions:
1. What do you want the program to be? One that occasionally makes the NCAA Tournament? Or one that could potentially compete on a championship level...like we've seen with other "football" schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Tennessee in recent years?
2. If the answer is you want the program to be able to compete on a championship level, then the next question is do you see McMahon ever being able to get it to that point? If the answer is "no", then it is time to make a change. Otherwise, every subsequent season is just a waste of time towards your ultimate goal.
Your scenario reminds me, ironically, of NC State over the last 3 years. In 2024 they were planning to fire Keatts after he lost in the ACC Tournament...which would have been the end of their season. Except, he didn't lose. They won the thing and got the auto-bid to the NCAA Tournament. Then he continued to win...all the way to the Final Four. NC State kept him because, frankly, because it would have been hard to fire the coach who just led you to the Final Four for the first time in 41 years. The next season NC State sucked, finishing in the bottom 3 of the ACC, and Keatts was fired. That fluke outlier run just extended the inevitable.
Same thing happened with Dennis Felton at UGA. He was going to be fired after he lost in the 2008 SEC Tournament...except he didn't lose. UGA, as the second to worst team in the SEC, won the tournament and reached the NCAAT. Felton stayed...then went right back to being bad the next season and was fired 5 games into SEC play.
The decision should already be made to make a change. Put it in this context, McMahon would have to win his next 31 SEC games in a row just to get to a career .500 in SEC play. Don't let a fluke 8-9 games override the previous 100+ games of data.

When you look at it this way, it’s depressing. What other proof does one need to know he’s not the guy?

Baseball starts soon; thank God.
