I think the injury definitely attributed to it but also you can see hes gotten much bigger and stronger since then too. Players don't realize that has an effect on shot mechanics as well.

His shots clearly had more arc his freshman year. Now he shoots with a lower trajectory.

He also had more fluidity in his movements prior to the injury.

those numberas are a bit misleading because his team was throwing the ball up every 6 seconds and scoring and giving up points like crazy. for example they lost 99-92 to houston christian.

IT's not like the pace of play skewed those from 7-6 to 15/10. Maybe 13/8 to 15/10 or something of the like.

Point is Coleman was a solid player before coming here and was next to useless this year for whatever reason. He shot 55% from the floor his last year at NWST, it's not like he put up 15 points on 15-16 shots a game. He also grabbed almost 3 offensive rebounds a game.

Some of the games he had against power conference teams:
@ OU 2021 - 9/12, 19 points, 6 boards
@ LSU 2021 - 8/11, 16 points, 13 boards (5 offensive)
@ Texas A&M 2021 - 6/12, 12 points, 11 boards (4 offensive)
@ TCU 2020 - 6/9, 15 points, 4 boards

Sure looks like to me someone who could at least give us valuable bench minutes on our terrible team but hey, McMahon couldnt get anything out of him. Best game all season was 7 and 6 against UT-Arlington. And he rarely had much an impact on our ultra soft OOC so it wasnt a moving from Southland to SEC thing.

Also about his fouling issue this year, he averaged 2.1 fouls per 28.6 minutes on average played at NWST last year (only fouled out of 1 game there, 25/30 games his last season with 3 fouls or less) so for whatever reason he wasn't jiving here because thats not a fouling issue coming in.

He was the “best” player on a 9 win team in the worst conference in America.

These type of guys put up numbers by default. It doesn’t mean they are good.

16pts in a 40 point loss to another team is not impressive.

Again, it shows he can play at least on top of averaging 15/10 a game, not be a complete end of bench guy who does nothing. It was a terrible coaching job on him. He literally turned a solid mid-major starter into a complete nobody. Same thing almost happened with Juice who quit the team mid-season he was so bad.

I am in no way saying Coleman should have been a 12/8 type of player here or something but again, 15/10 to like 2/2, fricking awful. Nobody had Coleman being this bad coming in, so lets not play revisionist history. We played a BUNCH of terrible OOC teams and he didnt do much in those games either, plenty of comp similar to what he regularly saw in Southland.

He’s not saying he’s an all world talent. He’s simply saying he should’ve been more productive on a terrible team because he doesn’t suck. He had some translatable skills too, as a big who can rebound and run the floor. It’s not like he was a 6’ guard who put up numbers because he took every shot for his last team.

Lets see where he ends up that will tell us a lot about how good or bad he really is.

Dude none of these games were close except TCU and they were 12-14 as a team.

Someone has to fill the box score on bad teams. It doesn’t mean they are good.

He’s not good though. He didn’t ever look like he belonged playing in the SEC.

He averaged 15/10 all season long his last year there and was a 1st team all conference player ON TOP of playing well against power 5 teams that year. I dont know how much evidence and facts you need to see to show he shouldn't be an end of bench 2/2 player on a terrible team this year.

He had 7 board in the 1st half against us. He had 12 points and 5 boards in the 1st half of the OU game.

Just stop making excuses, there's no way he should have been this bad

Again, we played a cupcake OOC and he did very little against that. Whats the excuse there?

Offseason priority should be to improve his dribble to protect the ball better.
Yes, Miller would do himself a world of good if he would study the film of his team leading turnovers and try to correct that behavior wherever he plays next year.
