Hopefully they will be top 30 this year as well. I don’t have the patience to wait until next year lol

I like him. He will fit well in the DT rotation

He just isn’t playing every down at that weight & if they have to sort his snaps, it makes more sense on passing downs. I honestly don’t care what he did vs the run in the AAC or against LSU’s weak interior OL.

With Gooden's speed and nimbleness I'd like to see Gooden at RB getting the ball on goal line and short yardage scenarios.

He looked plenty good against Bama last year against the run.

He didn’t record a tackle according to the box score

I appreciate the clarification of G. Nussmeier as opposed to another Nussmeier on the roster.

Also love how Gooden is giving the rest of the schedule the blueprint on how to wreck our interior offensive line this season.

WOW! Why don't you just sit out the season. Since you are a clairvoyant and can see how bad our OL because Gooden is standing out tell us how many rushing yds and passing yds we rack up this year. Why don't you go hang out at the mall instead. Did I miss your prediction last year that G. Nussmier (thought you would appreciate this clarification) would pass for over 4000 yards behind our non existent (your view) OL? So your view is that Gooden is just some chump and only looks good because YOU know before one game has been played our OL sucks? Is that about right?

How is it G. Nussmier (who didn't have near the scrambling abilities of Joe Burrow or Jaden Daniels) was able to pass for over 4000 yrs and ranked 2nd best in the SEC If our OL is so weak? How do you know without being on the coaching staff (I assume you are not an LSU position coach) or seeing one game this year that we will have a weak OL this year?

pretty sure he led the nation in attempts. Had no run game, and was put in a lot of negative game-flow situations. Leading the nation in yards doesnt mean anything if it is not efficient, and it wasnt.

the same way you know that Bernard Gooden is the next Warren Sapp without seeing one game

they honestly should be, the talent and depth is there to be in the top 30 or even the top 20 on defense IMHO.

And if they are not it's either a coaching issue or an issue with incorporating the influx of transfers within the team dynamics.

In football, you win some and you lose some

Gooden is winning a majority of them with enough of a data set at this point. Shows me there is a problem with IOL continuity.
________

Still early and d always has the advantage in the early part of camp. We spent the first week or so without hitting. Oline needs more time to gel. I am still expecting improvement from the group.

________

We all can choose our mindset. Hopefully optimistic is not crazy for a guy flashing in pre-season.

The recipe is simple: have elite defensive tackles and linebackers.

I hope you're right! I'm a big fan of Defense make no mistake about it.

My wife worked for an "Official Surgeon of the Tampa Bay Buc's." Monte Kiffin calls & introduces himself. My wife in turn says "I know who you are my husbands says you're the reason the Buc's won the SB." 1-26-2003. He says I love that guy and asked for my cell.

Dude called me we spoke. I made mention of this. "Mr. Kiffin I know the offense has it's place but I'm going to make a sandwich or hit the restroom when they take the field but I'm not missing a single Defensive play." He belly laughed.

I've said it before a win is a win but I want to see the opposing Punter taking the field several times a game and continuously on the sideline staying warmed up.

However I'm Doubting Thomas until I see it. The last several years have been hard to watch.
