Don’t forget Williams. He looked pretty good in relief against West Virginia

No where in this equation do you have Williams pitching

He's calling him Cooper(his first name). Not sure why? Every other pitcher in his post, he's using their last name.

In our most recent high pressure scenario, he went with Cowan and then Evans and I suspect he will do it again

Yep. Cowan stunk it up and Evans was fantastic. I simply don’t think Jay is planning on starting Cowan game 3 and him going 5 innings at this point in time. Maybe that happens and you can be proven right, I just disagree that it’s the current plan or strategy.

I’m also not sure why you are limiting Shores and Evans to one inning per game.

Cowan’s out pitch is his change up. It’s a swing and miss pitch. They not swinging at it.

They won’t be scraping. They will throw the same guy they started last night.
Their pen is much deeper and more reliable in my opinion.

They could use Root, but they might use him to stay alive in their second losers’ bracket game. Anyway, I’ve been hearing all year how we need to be scared of Arkansas, meanwhile we’re 3-1 against them.

Game 2: Eyanson until the 7th inning, Rizy 8th and Williams to close in the 9th.

Game 3: Evans for 5 innings (with the option of Cowen/Noot/mayers to pitch an inning or two to get us to the 8th), Shores to close.

My script if I could write it up

Wrong on so many fronts.

You’ll see Eyanson for as long as he can go. From there it’ll probably be Cowan (considering UCLA has never seen him), Shores, Cooper, Rizy in no particular order.

Evans will start game 3.

Johnson has been open that it's hard to adjust from seeing Cowan then putting Evans out there. That's the thought process behind starting him.

Because he’s not locating the fastball

I’m sure that’s the plan. Hopefully all goes accordingly.

Once you go wholesale, it’s all about matchups. Lefty /righty

You lost me at Cowan. Coach would 100% absolutely love to repeat yesterday. Starter for 7. Shores/Evans combine for 23 pitches.

Cowan needs to locate and establish his fastball which can sometimes sit at 92-93mph. Once that happens the change up is very effective. Location is a must though. He can’t leave it up regardless of the chuck being a huge park.

Cowan hasn’t been a reliable option for weeks. Shores has taken his place in the pecking order.

You’ll get hate with Cowan, but no one wanted Hurd rolling out there game 1 vs Florida in 23 either.
