OK, my biggest surprise: How can McCray look so smart but react/play so slow in pads, but test so fast with pads off? Baffling.
I was sure that McCray would be a 4.65++ guy.

Yes, pretty good college player but very undersized, had no business being taken that high, but who would turn it down if it happened to them?

You can go ahead an add Alem to the list of disappointing bench performances.

who said it was "SO MUCH FASTER"???
not me
it was faster, and that is blatantly obvious.
He is making a fair point. If Scott and Coleman's improvement was solely a result of it being a faster track, wouldn't everyone's improvement be pretty similar? That didn't happen. Plus, Scott ran very close to KW. That was not expected.
Scott's improvement seems to be legitimate.

Gay got burned more than McCray ever did.
I disagree with that. I think Gay was much more highly thought of coming out of LSU than McCray is. His weight/frame was his biggest negative.
Curtis Taylor's stock dropped immensely his senior year. I still think he was thought of more highly than McCray.

Scott was 6lbs lighter, that was my main reason to explain the differential.
he wouldnt buy that either.
not sure how to explain Coleman, but players usually dont make that big of a jump in such a short period.
the track was obviously faster. But i never said it was the sole reason that their improvements were so much better.
11 of the 12 runs were faster than the posted combine time.
Gay didn't gain any buzz until he ran at the pro day. That's the only reason he got a look. No one thought he would play at the next level.
and he was a whipping boy by LSU fans because getting burned.
then again they think anyone who gets burned once or twice cannot cover.

I guess that is proof that measured and game speed are two different things. Look at Ali Highsmith and Danny McCray. I would have never guessed their 40 times by watching them play
which proves that 40 times mean nothing..like i stated a few weeks ago and got bashed for it

I think someone will give McCray a shot in the draft, those numbers are too impressive to ignore.

you can't be serious mate.
a football player lasts at most ten seconds. most rests period in between plays is a minimum of 20 seconds. that is not endurance, and doing 20-30 reps of a bench press is no going to work.

looking at the vids, it looked like Keiland has had little, or no, training in running the 40. Not sure if he is fully healed at this point though.

Al Woods LSU career can be sumed up in one word "BUST" highly touted 5 star that did nothing in the nation's top onference.....great Pro Day.....
he did nothing here...not even Honorable Mention SEC once

I'd rather be a "bust" who gets drafted by the NFL than a never been nothing like all the posters in this thread.

Man, look at Chris Mitchell numbers I think someone is going to give him a shot as a free agent.

In defense of Al, he should have been red-shirted in '06. Fully wasted year of eligibility. Secondly, does anyone really think our DL coaching has been very good since Lane's arrival?

looking at the body of work, the lineman are disappointing in the combine performances. Just sayin'.

I am sure the scouts will still view him the same way as they did before. A big running back with about 4.6 speed. Which is plenty enough for big backs in the NFL.
what hurts chuck are the other "explosive" tests. he didn't do well at these at the combine...at all
