re: LSU’s “40 million dollar roster “

It was a simple question. But there does seem to be some on here that worry way too much about how much money LSU spends on players/coaches like they are the main donors and worried to death that their money is being well spent. I’ll just let Verge and Kiffin worry about how much money is being spent and where it’s going and I’ll just sit back and enjoy being an LSU fan.

Hopefully it’s true. That’s what a roster will take and it shows our AD’s commitment to the program

Not accurate at all, it’s much higher.

I think it’s just hearsay but I’d imagine it’s probably pretty accurate. I asked the question to myself the other day that I wonder how much money boosters are spending just in the past calendar year. Between buying out BK and the offensive staff, hiring Lane and a new offensive staff, paying Baker, and buying an entirely new roster, that number has to be astronomical.
Roster wise, I think there’s probably 5-10 guys making over $1 million.

Cliffs Notes:
$13M of rev share from July 2025 - June 2026 fiscal year
$15M of rev share from July 2026 - June 2027 fiscal year
$10M-$12M of 3rd party NIL deals
Gets you to around $38M-40M in total payout to players. The $13M available from the 2025-2026 fiscal was becasue the 2025 roster was almost completely paid from funds from the Collective. They depleted those becasue they can't really be used for paying players after June 30, 2025.

Eh, it doesn't matter. This will go up each year. Some team will beat it every year until something is done about it.

That is called a statement. Not a question. Hence the period and not a questions mark. Now get off of yours. I know 4th grade English is hard for some of yall.

It’s crazy that Ohio State won a title with $20,000,000 2 years ago. Now teams are paying double that or a chance
Posted on 2/4/26 at 8:37 am to CatsGoneWild
how? well we frontloaded contracts last year and didnt spend the rev share.....we used that to front load contracts this year and spend before july when it has to be spent. then we used this years rev share to pay for after july and then we used true 3rd party NIL to make up the rest
but in the end....why the frick do you care? who the frick are you to demand anything? did you give any money? doubtful so stfu.

yep
same posters go on the OT and fret about how others spend their money and chastise posters for having different interest or income levels.
very low IQ individuals.

I thought there were some degree of certification that the individual school had to make cause I think the revenue sharing at least is tracked.

Doesn't necessarily mean that's public knowledge.

I still can’t believe colleges can openly pay players. Never thought I would see that in my lifetime.

You have more than a handful of programs investing $20 mill or so in their teams each year. They can't all be guaranteed a NC.

Did you think that wasn’t the goal or something?

I would venture to say that most people would agree that the overall dollar amount, including the coaching staff, is pretty crazy.
I would also venture to say that’s nothing compared to what the LSU program does for the local economy. When the program is back where it should be, that drives so much money to the area and state. I’m sure someone can pull data back from the Honey Badger and Burrow days to see what the impact looks like.

More like 30-33million but what’s 10-12 mill nowadays.
We better make the playoffs?
Still doesn’t sound like a question
