I think in a year or two we will be a self sustaining program.
Our recruiting is not good enough. We’ll always be taking in transfers with how we are recruiting

So far as a HC, I don’t think anyone is impressed

LSU’s last 2 seasons before Brian Kelly
11-12 overall record.
LSU’s first 20 games with Brian Kelly
14-6 overall record.
So knowing what we know, Here's the original 2020 schedule:
UTSA - W
Texas - Probable L
Rice - W
OM - W
Nicholls - W
@Florida - W
@Arkansas - W
MSU - L
Bama - L
USC - W
@AU - L
@aTm - L
So LSU probably finishes 7-5 there (Could O have beaten Texas in week 2 with Brennan? Who knows). 13-11 isn't much better, but there is a difference.
Kelly is being paid an exorbitant amount of money and he couldn't get an elite DC to come work for him.
LSU had to make House, a guy who had little experience as a DC, one of the highest paid coordinators in the country to come here.

Not to mention, not a single person picked A&M to beat lsu last year.
Except those of us that actually watched the TAMU games with the other QB early in the season and saw how they played. Plus Daniels stubbornness to throw downfield made him one dimensional if you kept him in the pocket. You could see that loss from a mile away.

Need to improve in recruiting defensive players as well
Who the DC is will play a role in that

Let’s see how they play against a d line like Texas A&M or a rejuvenated Alabama offense.
The way this team plays defense, I'll be shocked if both of those teams don't put up 50 on the defense.
He better have the offense scoring everytime they get the ball and STs better be solid...or its going to be very ugly very quickly. This D is shockingly bad.

9 of 20 games as LSU DC, House' D has given up 31 or more points. Plain and simple that is way too much!

SEC championship game one year after starting a WR at QB is not impressive to you? We had 39 people left. You are just mad the defense sucks. It will be addressed in the off season.
Johnson injured, Brooks out and two FCS players starting in the secondary. And people wonder why the defense is not average. Plus throw in that 80% of the secondary is transfers ( new players).

It amazes me the complete lack of understanding so much of this board has about the situation in which Kelly came into.
It’s said often, but apparently it hasn’t set in.
WE HAD BACK TO BACK SEASONS OF 5-5 and 6-7 AND WERE LEFT WITH A HALF EMPTY CUPBOARD GOING INTO THE 2021/2022 OFFSEASON.
Has Kelly been perfect? No, but we’re in a much better spot than we were 2 years ago and WAY ahead of schedule.
The foundation is still being laid and we’re competing for the west.
This isn’t 2016 or 2005. If you want to make a comparison to timeline of the program, I’d argue 2001/2002 the closest comparison.
If we make the SECCG we won’t be favored and it would be a huge upset of UGA.
Recency bias is plaguing this fan base.

We will be able to score on them
Doubt it. Maybe a TD or two but not near enough to win. Max Headroom and that great Aggie team didn't even make 100 yds total offense second half yesterday.

This is what the vast majority doesn’t get. The greatest recruiter in the country not gonna outbid the schools with the mega money. Saw where Manning is getting 2.8 million to go to Texas. I’m a huge LSU fan, but how does he not go to Texas. Time for everyone to wake up about recruiting .

Overall for last 43 games we ARE coming back
Concern is Milroe if he improves passing game he would be just like JD
Hopefully it won’t turn on for the bama qb until after we beat them
