The Murray State job was open after last season because McMahon’s replacement stunk. Their fanbase would have LOVED to have him back. I’m not so sure he didn’t want to go back. But he figured he’d just wait for LSU to fire him at the end of last season so he could collect the buyout money AND return to his happy place. He underestimated how bad an AD Woodward was.
Now Murray’s new HC is 13-3 and leading the MVC. That job isn’t coming open for the foreseeable future unless that coach takes a better job. Perhaps McMahon has been screwed by Woodward’s incompetence as much as the LSU fanbase

Neither would have come to LSU. Indiana still has more cache and McCollum is an Iowa native. But that still doesn’t mean someone better than this wouldn’t have come to LSU

Two things I did not think I would ever say
1. O left LSU off better than BK
2. Joe Alleva left LSU better off than woodward
Give scotty's fat arse all of the accolades you want, but the man left our 2 biggest sports in shambles with two horrific hires
Firing Wade to save football was also pure propaganda, he wanted Wade out and used a report full of shite LSU already knew to do it. Scott's ego got the best of him.

Just wait. He wants out of the NBA, and front office duties. Wanna make a splash? He will be available. Get it through your thick heads, that the program's issue go way above the HC. Those who have a hand up the arse of donors were spooked because of the WW situation. They are problem. The old guard, so to speak. Not once has LSU had a former player come around, and sell the program. Before anyone starts with Tasmin Mitchell, just freaking stop. College basketball has , and always will be a dirty business when it comes to recruiting. Lsu did that getting, CJ, Shaq ,Roberts, etc. The list goes on and on. John Brady broke a bunch of rules too. The problem is that WW and his simpleton brain spooked away the recruiting tactics when he got caught, then fired. Believe me, you cant win in big time college basketball, without being dirty. All of them did it, you, me and everyone knows it. Even John Wooden was a bit dirty. Go read some books that his former players came out with. So before anyone starts to hang me on a cross, stop and think about the situation LSU is in now. They're playing with scared money, and it never wins. MM was the safe hire, and he is playing with the hand that was dealt. Give it time, and the cycle will play out. Verge wants to win just as bad as anyone, and will take the program seriously. Can't survive when its hemorrhaging money. Class dismissed

You mean having clandestine discussions about paying players? I'm not sure if you've ventured out into the world recently, but those discussions are no longer necessary to hide....because paying players is OUT IN THE OPEN now. The schools themselves openly solicit money to pay players. So why would the donors be "afraid" of giving money? That the HC may get caught paying players? There are billboards on the interstate showing players who are being paid to play for LSU.
