I would take a prepared/educated on the system Jefferson every day before I'd start an uneducated/unprepared Mett.
Most posters who have an issue and are crying about this are already putting too many expectations on Mett.
I think you guys need to step back and think for 2 seconds before screaming that the sky is falling.

No. I promise you that Les is more into winning a championship then he is into Jordan Jefferson.
THIS + 1000000000000000000000000000000
People who think the coaches have some sort of agenda really bother me! Les wants to win as much if not more than the fans! He is going to player whoever gives him the best chance to win. The problem with our QB position the last few yrs was that neither was that good; however, both did show improvement last year. By the end, JJ was helpin us win games IMO.

I'm absolutely positive that Mett knows the playbook inside and out.
Are they using the same playbook from the past few years? I thought maybe we would have a new playbook with our supposed new offense. If so, does that mean JJ and Mett essentially have the same amount of exposure to the playbook?

Has timing down with the WR;s.
Yes, JJ's impeccable timing with the WRs is a thing of beauty.

Knows the ins and outs of everything going on with the offense as if he has been in the system for 7 years.
JJ is going on his 4th year in the system. What was his QB rating and stats last year again?

No real surprises there! JJ will start; Lee follows and Mett waits his turn, unless somebody gets hurt. We don't have to like it necessarily but it shouldn't surprise anybody.

I was unaware that players are allowed to get better as they mature and gain experience.
I hate rantards. Jesus christ what will you idiots do if Mett plays horribly in the spring game and JJ plays lights out?

This is ridiculous. Miles has always let the best player play. Mett has NEVER played a snap of MAJOR college football. People thinking he will immediately be the best QB on our team are taking crazy pills!

Mettenberger inherits this team after this season. No one, especially not him, should complain if he doesn't start right away this year. Dude will have some serious time at the helm. If he is the best QB in the country, he can win all of the awards here, including a ring. Be patient.

yes they do. and he will get as many reps as he's earned throughout spring ball.

Not surprised at all.
So Mett should start? What are you basing this off of and what have you seen to say he should be the starter? what has Mett done on an SEC field?

what year are you referring to? I'm assuming you're being sarcastic and saying that JV got more carries and yards then KW in '06. Is that what you're saying?

Who says he should start the Spring Game? I haven't seen that other than the far rantards. The concern is Miles saying it's JJ and Lee and then a distant 3rd is Mett. That quote has many, myself included, thinking Mett won't see much of the field at all in the Spring Game. We ALL know JJ will start every game of 2011. No reason for Mett to not get significant snaps in the Spring Game though.

Time and time again it's been stated that it's not a new offense. It's pretty much the same system but simplified and with added emphasis on execution, the very things we've lacked the past 2 years.

Can't deny, JJ's timing is horrible.

He still has much more experience in the system and has the legs to make him a possible dual-threat QB. With Krags I think we'll see improved passing from JJ. I really believe he'll be just good enough this year to keep his job and help win us a NC. Call me crazy, gullible, or stupid, but that's what I believe.

Ive seen less talented freshmen walk on the field all over D1 football and look TONS better than JJ, who has more playing time than most anyone in D1.
There's no reason to think Mett couldnt walk in and do the same, except hes actually been around two D1 programs, and has good PT in a JuCo.
he just needs the reps and exposure, which is the big question. Is he getting it?
I dont think JJ will be hard to unseat, partciularly as much as Krags wants to chuck it downfield this year. JJ could be exposed quickly. He's been far too inconsistent.

2006 when Vincent averaged 3.7 yards a carry to Keiland's 5.7. JV 0 touchdowns, KW 5. In LSU's 2 losses that year to Auburn and Florida, Williams didn't have a single carry. Vincent started until LSU lost 2 games.

KW had 20 more carries then JV that year.

And Vincent started the first 6 games. Once LSU lost 2 games, Miles made the switch.
