As you should. You can pull for both. I don't see why it has to be either/or if you are a ULL fan or alum.

Being from Monroe, I can tell you there is a small number of ULM die hards that are exactly the same way (even though ULM is only competitive in water skiing). It's great for them to love their team but to criticize others for not loving their team just shows their jealousy.

I don't know of a single person like that. The LSU/ULM relationship is great

It’s the arrogant “know your place,” “you’re a junior college,” “ULLLLL” nonsense

People do that because your school is a directional in every sense of the word but your admin and fans can't accept it. The need to run away from USL and then again from ULL so you can be The University of Louisiana, is, for me, sad and desperate. Compare your school athletically and academically to other universities in the SEC footprint that bear their state's name. One is not like the others.

Seems like it was more damaging to your team since they proceeded to get swept right after. Meanwhile, LSU sweeps an SEC series. All LSU fans are hoping y'all make the postseason and get placed in our regional.

I think the Cajuns have a neat little school.Every state needs these little incidental schools to handle the overflow and funnel them to a school that fits them better and the Cajuns fill that role. They also have cute little lady teams and a great little tiny stadium for great Saturday games against schools like Texas State and Old Dominion with lots of good energy and popcorn and cola products and meat pies made locally with love by school alumni. I hope they succeed in the Sunbelt and win many crowns and collect many thousands in revenue !

It's a good thing that you don't want to discuss that. Bless your heart if you think ULL is the better academic institution.

Edit: This is in no way meant to say ULL is a shitty school or anything. I have several friends that went there and I know they got a great education. I'm also sure that ULL has some programs that are ranked higher than LSU's but come on lol.

Reminds me of a conversation I had with a ULL student about 20 years ago. He's telling me how, unlike LSU, ULL spends their money on academics. You know, LSU spends too much on athletics. It was at a wedding reception, so I chose to go get another drink!

C’mon man, I never said UL was a better in sports or academics. Simply said we have represented Louisiana well in response to saying only LSU represents Louisiana on a national scale. Louisiana has three R1 level research schools, UL, LSU & Tulane. We are the second largest public university after LSU and have been for awhile now. UL has made huge strides academically at the detriment to athletics. We are actually one of the few things on the rise in this state, alot having to do with Lafayette being one of the few decent cities left worth living in Louisiana. No reason for all this hate over a midweek baseball game

Much of the hate LSU gets in Lafayette is because of your attitudes toward anything non-LSU as irrelevant and it mostly comes from your non graduate fans who you have the monopoly on in this state. I gotta say from all the smack talk here it seems primed for a decent little non conference rivalry which honestly is good for everyone.

Weird. You people are the only ones that this is an issue with. Grads of the other instate schools I listed do not have this mentality. Why is this concept so difficult for you people to grasp? Supporting the P5 team that represents your home state does not mean you are turning your back on your Alma mater. It’s not either or. This isn’t Bama Auburn. This is ULL LSU. SEC/Sun Belt. G5/P5

GTFO with pull for the Tigers crap. Some of you think that it’s wrong to actually be a fan of the program that you actually went to school at. Hate LSU, indifference towards LSU and casually support LSU is what 99% of UL fans are really like.

But the majority of LSU fans and nearly 99% of those fans that are from the Lafayette area take every opportunity to shite on anything UL. Which is even more pathetic since LSU is the big bad P5.

If it did not matter to LSU fans they would not be so triggered.. Take a break from Freds and go on down to Lafayette and talk to some of those ole boys at Red's on how UL sucks!!

I think I must have misunderstood what you meant haha.

All else I have to add is that ULL is a big positive for the state. They were the only other school I applied to in Louisiana besides LSU (I ended up at LSU).

I like yall and it's fun to talk shite but there's no hate from me. There's just so many delusional takes from both sides

Thank You. A very reasonable post.

While Mike goes on his Tiger show rant, I can’t help but laugh at how he didn’t finish school in Lafayette because he couldn’t cut it. No wonder he is so bitter.

I lived in Lafayette from 1980 until 2007. I attended USL and graduated from ULL (same school, but the name changed my senior year).

I've probably only met 20 or 30 die hard UL fans in my entire life and most of them were guys I'd go to basketball games with.

You guys aren't wrong about them, but it's not like they're everywhere around town. The overwhelming majority of Lafayette is LSU fans (at least in my circles).
