Agreed. Paul McCartney doesn’t need to shite on a boy band member and the New York Yankees don’t have to mock a t-ball team. Excellence and mediocrity can exist perfectly well together, and even pull for each other. There is room for LSU to win multiple national championships in multiple sports and the Cajuns to play Texas State in a humdinger on Cajun field and hand out colorful little commemorative cups. Both are great, one is just more relevant than the other. I, like many other LSU graduates and fans want our little friends from Lafayette to do great things on the smaller stage just as I’m sure they want LSU to continue to be the Behemoth just to their east that gets all the attention and accolades. It’s about that kind of mutual respect- a collegial brotherhood of sorts.

LSU is certainly not an academic heavyweight, but it is a better school than ULL both academically and athletically. ULL grads know this and hates it.

It sure as shite pisses LSU fans off when UL accomplishes anything. If we knew our place, maybe LSU should know theirs and not care what happens in Lafayette. But that’s never the case is it?

Louisiana universities are broken down into 4 categories according to the state legislature.
Flagship University: LSU
Statewide Universities: UL, Tulane and La Tech
Regional Colleges: Everyone Else

Most UL grads are content knowing they were able to get a good education and not have to live in Baton Rouge.
