Coach O will never win a national championship. 100% not happening.

If you agree, then tell me what the frick LSU is even doing with this stupid experiment?

Lowering the fan expectations and the expenses.

Let's stop with all the hate and the emotions, and look at the numbers over the past decade or so.
Les Miles, like it or not, had LSU at an elite level. Urban Meyer had Florida at that level, too. They were 3-3 against each other, and the winner of that game had a good shot at playing for the national title (and at the time, an SEC team that played for it, won it).

Neither guy could keep up with Saban at Alabama. Miles actually did a better job for longer, but he too was 'processed'.
Now again, forgetting the emotions etc, Miles didn't forget how to coach or run a program. He was as good as Meyer... and we now generally consider Meyer at Ohio State to be one of the top coaches out there. So using that logic, you weren't going to find a better coach than Miles- so don't pay the next guy more. Because he won't pass Alabama either, not as long as Saban is there.

A&M paid a shite-ton of money to get Jimbo, and Saban crushed his Fla St team in what was supposed to be a good matchup. Killed their whole season. I see that happening at A&M too. UGA paid Smart a ton, based on this year- but Saban has shown vs Clemson that being competitive doesn't mean you'll stay there (Bama stomped Clemson this past season).

The TL,DR version- O is the placeholder until Saban leaves. I guess the admin thinks we can win 8-9 games a year with 'anyone', and then turn it back on when Saban leaves.

I don't like that approach, but I really believe that's the overall plan.

I cannot see a new AD actually meeting Orgeron and later deciding to give him an extension.

what I do like though is that I finally feel like we are back in the game. With MIles, once Cam was hired (actually pre cam) it felt like with the limitations of the offense systems that our chances became severly limited and we started each season carrying an anchor. But now we have unloaded that anchor and are back in the game even steven with everyone else.

Miles was in year 3 in 2007. he was hired january 2005. sheer common sense dictates that over half that team was recruited by Miles.

Name two quarterbacks recruited by Miles that you would trade for JR and Flynn.
With either of those QBs, or one with similar ability, we could have won it all in 2011.
After Miles a good QB wouldn't even consider us or he couldn't develop one, take your pick.

Teams win championships.

Flynn was important but he also
Missed multiple games that perrilloux played in. We don’t win that championship without Miles players.

Mett was one I'd take, and Perilloux would be the other.

Look, we had the QB in place. He just turned out to be a knucklehead.

I'm sure tennessee fans thought they had no power over Greg Schiano getting hired.

Why do you think you have pundits talking about O's seat being warm?

I'll give you a hint, its not because the admins are putting the pressure on him.

Sooo, you want him fired and are trying to accomplish it by "ranting". Ok, to each his own.

I'm skeptical , but I hope he succeeds. Maybe I should leave this board if its truly going to be like this all season.

nope. our luck ran out and 1/9/12 happened

2011 was a flawed team that had a bunch of outlier events happen to swing momentum of games at crucial times

Being dishonest about what's going on with the program makes one an idiot.

I hear ya.

I personally think that this board is infested with many "posers" who act like they are LSU fans but aren't and they just enjoy being dickheads.
