What do you expect? Brian Kelly quit on their team a week before they were possibly going to make the playoff. They should hate him. They were winning playoff games while we were sitting at home.
Brian Kelly’s buyout at the time he left was $2.5 million. He was asking for more assistant money and a new football ops center and facilities.
They didn’t want to invest more in him and his program so he took a $100 million dollar offer that ND didn’t want to match. Fine, it worked out. But that offer from LSU wasn’t waiting for the playoff selection to be over.
Since then they’ve hired Denbrock for $2.5 million. Golden for $2.5 million. They have a new football facility opening in 2026. They have invested heavily in NIL.
Him leaving woke them up.

That's great. If a coach quits on your team in while you are in contention for a national championship, you are going to hate him. I'm not sure what is so hard to understand about that.

Let them say what they want. They will learn in short order that Freeman is not a better coach than Kelly.
I am not Kelly's biggest fan, and I am very critical of many of his decisions like promoting Sloan and if he keeps him as the play caller see another wasted season next year, but he never was given the resources at ND that Freeman is now being given.
BK was asking ND to ante up on facilities and resources, and they basically refused. It took him bolting for the LSU job to get them to make those changes and so of course ND is succeeding to an extent. Kelly left them at top 5 team without the extra resources, and then imagine if they still had Kelly and the resources now?
The reality is that Freeman is a very good coach and will likely be a very good coach in the long run, but he is not better than anyone because of their run this season.
In the end, They stopped tOSU from scoring twice the entire game, and one was just a great play both by the tOSU WR and then the ND defender to punch the ball out at the end of the run. They lost by 11 points, and looked outmatched for most of the game.

Man. Ohio State got so conservative. That game should have been 50-7. Play that game 10 times and Ohio' state wins 10 out of 10.

Right. Sometimes the only way to get them to change is to break up with them. That's pretty much what happened with Kelly and ND, and ND is better for it today.

All this gnashing of teeth to be the first loser. Congrats I guess

You are right - because before this year there were never three possible playoff games.
You know who else never won three playoff games to get there - Saban.
See how stupid that argument sounds?

No. Not true. Kelly would have lost that game by 31.
38-7
It's who he is.

Good luck with that.

This guy needs to put all his money in the lottery since he knows what numbers will be drawn.
How fricking stupid.

I've been following college and LSU football since the early 60s.THE most over-rated college football team EVER is Notre Dame.
The national bias in the polls goes all the way back to when the AP determined the college NC.Its no surprise today's ND fans continue to be detached from reality !

Ohio State fans are obnoxious.

The game was 28-7 and over before Notre Dame got the ball in the 2nd half.
They made it look closer than it really was. Congrats, I guess.
Seeing freeman kick the FG on 4th and goal was very questionable.

We have zero improvement from year 1 to 3. That really can’t be denied.

Dude made some boneheaded calls in this game. He’s benefitted from Kelly no doubt. Don’t forget those idiots wanted him fired after Northern Illinois and many articles were written about how he’s in over his head. He’ll caught lightning in a bottle now but he’ll be exposed next year.

LOL. The Bama and Clemson teams Kelly faced would have destroyed this ND team and would never have let them back on the game. Would have beaten this OSU team also in my opinion. And with 12 team playoff and ND in control of their schedule with no. Conferee championship they will be in playoffs every year.

Awwww, poor baby. We're sorry that Lord Freeman still hasn't elevated ND to anything past what BK left him...which was a top 5 team. 6 losses the last two seasons and something much bleaker next year. But hey, keep pretending like BK didn't take over that shite show at ND and win more games than any other coach had ever done there. I'm sure Freeman will reel in 5+ titles for you guys. His decision making last night was pure genius. Dogs but not underdogs...double digit loss. But congrats on the moral victory. Maybe you can hang a banner with "Almost Champs 2024"

What is ND record in SEC? And you want to compare LSU and ND? Switch schedules and then do it. And no Kelly wouldn’t have lost to Indiana, this GA team without starting QB or Penn St. There are no Banas and Clemsons like Kelly played while at ND. Fact.
