Playing a good opponent to open the season helps with player focus in pre-season camp.
Bring it on!

Bring it on!

It has royally screwed us the last two seasons from being in the playoffs
Win them and you don't have to worry.
Also the post below the OP sums it up.

It’s not idiotic. I don’t understand playing at the neutral site. We have UCLA at home this year. What Tiger fan doesn’t want to see that? Kelly has had since last January to prepare for USC. What’s the problem? Go and win that game. Just wish it was in Baton Rouge at night. That’s the only thing that would make it better

We have been looking forward to the Clemson games for a long time. Home and home is WAY better than neutral site. Clemson will be a great road trip.

When we stared losing them. Being 0-4 in openers since 2020 brings some hesitancy with it.

They’re dealing with the same “problem” of an early test. When did football become about avoiding great games to posture for end of year? Screw that. You want to be great? Then do it by beating all comers.

quote:and Clemson is going to look pretty damn good if Klubnik comes back for his final year. They don't look to have much leaving after this 2024 season. LSU loses a metric shite ton after this season and the vast majority of the starters will be first time starters. I can already see a loss looming on the road. We gotta see if we can schedule a cheap game one before that. People don't see it now, but losing these week one openers make the season insanely hard going forward. Next year we also have Bama, and what will be a better Oklahoma team on the road. I'd be okay with 9-3 in 2025 to prep us for 2026 though.
Looking at our future schedules. And next year we lead of AT freaking Clemson week 1, and the following year Clemson comes to BR
