Seems like it will be a year or two until it all sorts itself out. You get burned out the gates on a guy like Ewers and you pull back a little on the next deal. Market will set itself right eventually. I kind of like that idea on the no transfer. Or even pay it back.

Could a NIL deal be structured like a nfl roster bonus? In the case of Ewers who got a 1 million and then transferred. The deal should have been 250k for being on the roster year 1, 250k year 2, 250k year 3, 250k if on the roster year 4.

There has to be some way to make sure a big money 5 star can't transfer away right after they get paid.

The boosters better learn to make the kids sign a contract stating they will remain with the school and not transfer out.

They can't do that necause the it would be more than just an advertisement deal like its supposed to be.

What they should do though is not offer it all upfront but have different amounts paid when milestones are reached. Like after a full year, when a player becomes a starter, if the player wins post season accolades, etc.

makes perfect sense. I'd add a buyout clause. Enforeceable contract. Transfers are compared to coaches, rightfully so, all the time. So if that comparison is justified, so is big-boy contract terms.

Correct . Up here in Ohio the word is Ewers cant even beat out Kyle McCord right now who is back up behind Stroud . And O$U just got confirm on QB from Utah high school 4 star i beleive who ended up killing it at the QB camp thing he was at with Ewers . Beat Ewers in every category there .So Ewers needed to get out of O$U . Texas or Texas Tech is what i heard . He might want to go to Texas Tech .Stay out of SEC

He quit on his brothers. What respectable coach would want that type of player in their locker room.

I got hammered here for saying the same thing about J'Marr Chase. I don't understand why it was okay for Chase and not for Ricks..........

His mentality is a perfect example of why Oregon got beat twice by Utah. Most of those west coast guys are about themselves. They care about their own brand and their own individual performance more than the team. That's why when they play a team like Utah with no stars they get ran over. Nobody wants to take on a double team. They all want the sack or tackle for loss. The DBs jump routes and don't play disciplined because they want ints. Pac 12 football is terrible and guys like Ricks are why.

Supposedly bama is trying to find him a spot.

Why would Bama need to find a spot for him? They have a bunch of guys transferring out. They should easily have a spot in their 7 transfer slots for him.

If I was Ohio State, I'd be a little gun shy. Ewers (qb) just supposedly got 1 mill for four months and then transferred. Thats not very good return on your investment.

While I agree with the overall sentiment, it wasn't OSU that paid him the money. It was a kombucha company

I disagree. If players can take the money and then transfer, there will be less NiL money floating around due to the risk. Character will become a criteria, not just 5 star ability. A natural limit to NIL.

Chase QUIT. No other way to see it. So did Shelvin and eventually Marshall.
