Like everyone else, I hope we get Henry and Hill back, but neither one will give us 4 or 5 innings unless we get to Omaha. Mainieri isn't going to risk them going longer until they've worked up to it, nor should he.

If they are ready to go, then they will be ready to pitch a good amount of innings. They wont come back just to pitch in relief...

So who will LSU play on Tuesday?

None of the three bottom dwellers seem to want to win a game to go to Hoover. If all three lose again today, who wins the three way time between SC, Bama, and UK?

I was curious of that myself. Hard to interpret, but i think its first head to head if they all had played each other but they havent. So i think then it goes to best record against the 1 seed. They all lost to vandy in all 3 games. So then it goes to their record against the 2 seed, and we dont know who that is yet, so i quit.

I think there is a decent chance kentucky gets a win today though

And I feel like Bama has best shot for a win today vs. Georgia. I don't like it. I'd rather a Gump-less Hoover experience.

It's tough to figure out. UK did get one win against UGA, and assuming they all lose today, Bama and USCe would have been swept. So if it comes to that, I think UK would get the 12 seed.

ETA: South Carolina didn't play Arkansas, and Kentucky didn't play MSU. So UGA would be the first common opponent after Vandy, assuming all 3 lose.

From the SEC website regarding baseball tournament tiebreakers for 3 teams:

quote:

2. Three-Team Tie (or more). The following procedure will be used in the following order until the tie is broken: (Note: If the three tied teams have three different records against each other, they shall be seeded in best-percentage order.) Otherwise, once the tie has been reduced to two teams, the two-team tiebreaker procedure will be used.

A. If all three teams are common opponents: Total won-lost percentage of games played among the tied teams.

B. Won-lost percentage of the tied teams versus the No. 1 seed and proceeding through the No. 12 seed, if necessary, using common opponents only.

C. If three or more teams still are tied, the Commissioner will conduct a draw.

Alabama and Kentucky didn't play each other, so the 3 are not common opponents.

Vanderbilt is the #1 seed.

Alabama 0-3
South Carolina 0-3
Kentucky 0-3 (assuming a loss today)

Next common opponent: Georgia

Kentucky 1-2
South Carolina 0-3
Alabama 0-3 (assuming a loss today)

Correct it would be Kentucky. Zach Thompson has not pitched this weekend, assuming he’s pitching today but there would no reason to try and save him.
