I thought Givens had a decent game. A better game than Sears. Givens is obviously the future at the point.
Carter is the basketball version of Kyren Lacy. High athleticism but low emotional IQ.

I think the upside here is that the defense kept us in this game until very late despite poor shooting. And at least some of the turnovers look like a team not playing together for very long and others look like a lack of concentration. One should get better with more playing time and the other is easily fixable.
I like what I see for the most point.

We will be lucky to be average if we play like the shite show today. It's another McMahon team that plays as unmotivated as their coach. God forbid you ever play with emotion.

Gross. Make the fricking tournament for the love of God. We are good enough to do it.
My floor for us with this talent and 3 years of Mac is 17 wins total (same as last year), ceiling probably 21-22, I see us winning 20 games total this season and contending for a tourney spot much of the conference season and said that after last season that we need to win at least 20 games in Year 3 or this hire is a failure (to me at least) and I still stand by that. Our win at K-State by double-digits reinforces that expectation on my end.
We finished the non-conference schedule last year 8-5
This year, we're 4-1 so far with potential to be 5-1 after the weekend. If we flush this L and play like we did against K-State the rest of the non-conference schedule, we should have our 8th nonconference (and total) win well before Christmas whereas last season we won our 8th the final nonconference game. We very well could finish the nonconference portion 11-2 or 10-3 if we do that which will help our standing immensely.

It was the rebounding. LSU kept it from being a complete blowout with rebounding. Pitt had 36 and LSU had 35.
Where they got LSU is Pitt's shooting drastically improved in the second half.
They were shooting close to 30% in the first half and finished with 44%. LSU couldn't keep up and finished with 37%.
Going forward if this LSU team matches or exceeds opponents in rebounding they will be in every game they play.

Any update on Damian Collins?

Absolutely also, I just don't think we are that good in the half court. We look much better in transition which is why you have got to defensive rebound and get up and going.

I love what Bailey brings to the team, but I would strongly consider starting VMiller in his place. You get more offense and Miller’s defense has also been pretty good.
I’d also consider starting Chest over RMiller. He brings serious intensity on the glass and he even seems like he can put the ball on the floor and get to the hoop.
I’d toy with a starting lineup of Givens, Carter, VMiller, Chest and Reed.
You could always bring Bailey off the bench as well as Sears.
It’s an idea—maybe a good one, maybe not. But fixing the D on ball screens is certainly a good idea

For the love of God take Bailey out of the starting lineup

Not looking good for Collins. McMahon said same shoulder that kept him out last year.

Not enough shooters on this team . Unless they can rebound and defend at a high level , it’s going to be another long year.

VMiller should get increased time. But the downside is it means we sit a big, which I think we can get away with as Miller is a great offensive player

It certainly isn’t why we lost
Posted on 11/22/24 at 5:45 pm to Pmac96
Why? He shuts down the guys he guards he’s always in the top of +- and plus 40. We need to stop acting like Pitt isn’t a good team. We turned the ball over way too much and had a big scoring drought. The better team won today. Pitt will be a top 3-4 ACC team. When Bailey came back in Lowe was quieted down. The 3 isn’t his game but everything else is. He also slowed Dunn down. His defense is elite. Message board coaches always know more I guess.

So we play on Sunday vs UCF, in an attempt to be consoled. Does anyone know when that game starts-- I know it's on Sunday, but haven't seen any information on gametimes.
