Saying that he's shown signs of life at the plate and that all hope is not lost is certainly high praise.

It’s false though so.....

It only looks like I'm propping him up because of how far some of you morons go to tear him down

Nobody is tearing him down. He’s batted .220 & .170 his first two years at the plate. It’s called facts for gods sake. You pumpers will do anything to spin that.

I just know I don't need to shite on a kid constantly simply because he's not as good as some of the players who've come before him.

Yea you do. Anytime someone disagrees with you(the king of baseball on TD) you get all butthurt and call people dumb and ignorant. It’s not a matter of him not being as good of people before him it’s just that if your going to be so bad offensively then you better be flawless in the field if you are starting and that is just not the case. .958 fielding % last year on 46 starts

This is what still irks me about this roster. First of all, lack of LHP.

2nd of all, the lineup as you present is still too LH dominant.

Beloso- LH
Mathis LH
Willis LH
Gio LH
Cabrera LH
Biggs LH

Hughes cant hit at all

I really really like the players in a vacuum, but PM has his work cut out for him coming up with some strong platoons.

It is all speculation right now, but Gio was a freshman last year. They were all hot and cold at the plate lol.

Gio has one of the better approaches on the team. Need to do the math but prob 1st or 2nd in BB%. Prob 2nd to Reid. That type of approach plays, and is usually a good predictor of future success.

CJ Willis tailed off but he has it in him too. I wouldnt be surprised if he is an ALL SEC caliber player. Really love his approach and athleticism

Well there is 3 on the roster currently. There was one last year, but he was hurt. Then there were 4 before he left. So it seems the staff saw the lack of lefties as an issue and at least made a move towards correcting it. Will any of those lefties strongly contribute this year? Who knows.

Biggs was not in that projected line up (not that my opinion means jack shite). But you are looking at 5 lefties on my projected. As I pointed out, there seem to be some depth that is hitting, and it's depth that can play the same positions as the lefties. Dugas/Bianco could very easily swap out for Willis/Mathis/Gio against left handed pitching (if those guys don't earn the spot outright). I think we will be better equipped to swap guys in and out. At least until the injuries start hitting.

Anyone know what Toup's batting average was before he ran into the wall?

Scuba had posted that he was 5 for 11 just before the scrimmage when he was injured.

Don't sleep on Toups or Sanford in the outfield. Beloso will be in the starting line up but Dugas looked better defensively at 1B. Would it make sense for Beloso to be DH? Cranford and Arnold can play. I personally don't see Biggs in the starting line up but certainly provides some depth.

We haven't seen Hampton at all this fall, since he's been playing foosball and could compete for an OF position, so we'll see what happens there. Gio and Cabrera will be there for sure. Don't know as much about the infield, but you can't keep Beloso out of the starting lineup. Whether it's at 1B or DH, he'll be in there somehow.

Also, we have so many pitchers returning. Henry, Walker, Hilliard, Hill, Marceaux, Labas? Picking 3 weekend starters out of that group will be tough, but that's a great problem to have, especially considering all the injuries from last year.

A lot of decisions for CPM to make, but it should be a fun year. Looking forward to it.

Cole Henry? Not the Friday guy? Why on earth would you think that?

Every single thing about Henry, before he got hurt, screamed Friday night SEC guy.

I believe in his last fall start he struck out 6 in a short stint. I believe he was featuring his mid 90's fastball, with a mid 70's change up. His curve ball was already legit last year. If he added that change up, the kid will be unhittable and a first round pick (if he stays healthy).

Not a Friday night starter.

My bad you are correct. I got Walker mixed up with Henry. Yes Henry then Marceaux. Had a brain fart with me thinking Walker.

CF - Gio: Cabrera is getting a look. So if Gio isn't cutting it, Cabrera could move here.

Cabrera will be on the mound again before he’s on CF.

And I love me some Cabrera. Don’t hate.
