So their imaginary friend ain't quite the same as your imaginary friend.

Who cares?

of course I have a good time with no booze, but a little alcohol makes it a great time

Upvote.

Went to SLC this past July. They are good people.

Baptists have me more on edge than them.

Are there still those religious clowns with the signs and bullhorn on Bourbon?

there are some weird, cultish offshoots that are well beyond creepy. I've got no doubt that these subgroups are only a small part of the larger faith but I've met some disturbing "families" in northern Colorado.

Were they using power tools? If not, they weren't Mormons.

Actually we are Christian.
We 100% believe in Jesus as Savior.
The official name for the Mormon church is The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter Day Saints.
Thanks for playing.

Am I correct in that Mormons believe Jesus and Satan were brothers? No, sir, Mormons are not Christians.
Do Mormons believe Jesus was born of a virgin? STOP trying to confuse people they are believing the same as a Christian.

Yes, but I hardly see what that has to do with being a Christian as almost every Christian church has some different beliefs about Christ(kinda why there are separate churches). Pretty sure to qualify as Christian you must believe in Christ as your Savior and follow his teachings.

Um, Yes we do. It is literally in our scripture and current teachings. Yes, I know a few of the previous leaders of the church said things that could be taken differently, but those are up to interpretation and not official doctrine in any case.

Good night, I'm a guest here and even I am wondering why this tripe isn't in the O-T lounge.

If you really want to know what the actual doctrine is and not some "Mormons be crazy" rumor, I'm happy to meet you in O-T and explain it all. Not to convince you that it's right, but to hopefully extend some understanding that can help you find an increase in respect shown to a group of pretty decent people.

Serious offer. Let me know.

Richie, welcome to the board. I fully understand your sentiment. Let me offer some context. When I was growing up, I could count on one hand the number of times per year we got out of Utah County to go to Salt Lake County, etc. Back then in the 1980's, Utah County was white as white could be. Leaving the state at age 12 was quite a culture shock.

No, they don't drink, and the religion itself sounds bizarre to me, but whatever. I can honestly say after interacting with several LDS folks through work from all over the country, give me a mormon and I'll take my chances vs most other groups of people. Hard working, smart, generous, and friendly... almost every single one from my experience.
I've lived in Louisiana for the majority of my life, (Mandeville & BR) but I don't drink either.

I'd rather hang with sober Mormons any day than weak willed Louisiana drunkards that can can't function at an LSU athletic event without being plastered.

You'll see black Mormons depending on where you go. Utah & Idaho? Not so much. Atlanta? Different story. Africa? The majority. The old A&M strength and conditioning coach that just went to the Chargers is a Mormon. So is Gladys Knight.
