Aguire played for Depaul from 78-81, Ice played at LSU from 82-85.

Also, I don't remember ever playing DePaul during the early 80s at home. I could be wrong, it's been 45 years!

I do remember we played them on a Sunday afternoon in their ABSOLUTE pos gym that made Alligator Alley in Gainesville look like Madison Square Garden.

We had played an SEC game the day before (which wasn't all that uncommon), and flew to Chicago.

DePaul had an unbelievable team under Ray Meyer then, and we came damned close to winning that game.

We need to get back to being like that, and we can with the right coach (one in particular) and support.

I was at LSU from 1977-1981 with Daddy Dale... it was glorious.
Yes it was!

The basketball program can be renovated quickly with right hire as Head Coach. (And most of us know who Rousse and Mallet want)

I joined the new GBFTL Basketball Band in 80 and 81 after Wickes was hired in 80 and we dumped those god awful "Court Jesters" in favor of a basketball version of TGBFTL. (Which still remains today with Bengal Brass)

I was a 12 yo Tigah doing the same thing Drizz.

It sucks Rudy wasn't 100% healthy, I would have loved our chances in Philly.

Sadly, they don't postpone the games so you can get healthy though.

last one i remember really rocking was Arizona i think 2002?

lol what. There were tons of rocking games under Will Wade and even a few under Johnny Jones

Maybe it wasn't every game but there were definitely a few that blew the roof of the PMAC between now and 2002

All you have to do is win

People keep harping on renovations needed and such. I have been saying this about winning for a long time. Winning will bring the crowds. Consistent crowds will bring the renovations and upgrades. Upgrades bring more money... good idea but dont get the cart ahead of the horse.

For camparison purposes Rupp Arena is only 5 yrs younger than thePMAC and had renovations one time in 2015 including:

he entire list of renovations as stated on UK Athletics' website[20] include:

State-of-the-art Daktronics center-hung video board
15mm ribbon boards
Replaced 16mm LED corner video boards with 6mm LED video boards to produce HD quality image
L-Acoustics K2 line array sound system
Total sanding and repainting of the floor to reflect UK's updated branding and logo
New basketball goals and new shot clocks
Added press box seating to the east side of the arena
Replaced LED scorer's table with 6mm version and moved the old 10mm scorer's table to the opposite side of the floor for radio broadcast seating
Replaced static ad panels in lower four corners of the arena with LED ad panels

Just win and they will come...

I had a great time 70s - early 80s watching. LSU was on the college map with men's basketball.

I was too late to see Maravich play at LSU, but did get to watch him in the dome with the jazz. Fun years!

The loudest I can remember was the 1989 home game against a good Vandy team. We won on a last second shot from the side.

It was so packed, my future wife and I had to sit in the third level on the stairs because there was no room to sit. Those “Christal Pistol” days were something to see and the PMAC rocked.

Then you didn't watch basketball when Wade was here. Which is ok, but don't try and act like we don't have great basketball crowds when we have a team worth a damn. Even a .500 conference team with some life in it has the PMAC rocking, especially against good teams.

It used to be called the Deaf Dome.

LSU is probably too woke to use that term anymore.
