i think you raise LSU to a competitive level.....done
sell coaches on unique recruiting grounds (only team in La. tucked between Tex/Miss with Ga/Fla as producers, too)
pay them well and don't fire them after one year.

besides, they let a Qb go who is going to be in the NCG (coaching)
RBWilliams8 is on to something. Kirby Smart had to choose between Fromm and Fields, one a future fifth round draft choice, the other a future high first rounder. He chose the worst one.
Nick Saban had the same situation with Tua being a class behind Hurts, and Saban made the right calls. Saban is a better coach than Smart, and that is why he has a national title, and a solid chance at another, while Smart does not.

And they have zero playoff wins...
They beat Oklahoma in 2017.
quote:Wrong. They lacked a QB. Recruiting.
I only mentioned not winning the east this year because this year caps off one of the best full cycle of recruits Ever, on paper. (Coaching)
quote:They've had Hurts (Heisman Finalist), Tua (Heisman Finalist), and Jones (Heisman Finalist).
Bama’s hasn’t exactly had great QB’s on all their championship teams. (Coaching)
Kirby's playoff road ended with losses to Alabama in 2017 and 2018, and a loss to LSU in 2019.

Problem - nobody in coaching is learning jack shite coaching under Orgeron.

Every coach has an updated list of assistant coaches ready to go

This. The only P-5 University (post his stint at OM) willing to give Orgeron a shot at HC was LSU. We all know the history behind that (Alleva striking out on Jimbo and Hermann) The Orgeron HC model was recruit top 5 classes, hire great coordinators, cheerlead, and let them coach X’s and O’s. It worked in 2019 because of Joe Burrow and Joe Brady. Coaches don’t come to LSU because of Orgeron’s game day coaching skills.

It is not the coaches it is the #1 recruiting classes every year. Why is this so difficult to understand?
And they have the #1/2 class every year because of Saban and his process. Doesnt matter who the Assistants are.

It works because coaches have to follow The Process. Regardless of who they hire, they follow the model and don’t deviate from the plan. There are hiccups but nothing major as we have seen.
And the way the analyst/assistant thing is now, it's like he's running an internship program, or a or a graduate school for coaching- come in, see first-hand exactly how he does it, migrate from analyst to hand's-on, move on to your own career. Whether you're new and getting started, or trying to rebuild yourself, it seems to have worked.
Kirby, Kiffin, Pruitt, Sark, ... how many others, just in the last couple years?

The QB that they had just beat the shite out of Clemson. Them losing that guy is coaching as recruiting had him there, no?
quote:now do the rest. The had system QBs who’s coaching allowed them to succeed. Superior coaching allowed mediocre QB’s to become champions.
They've had Hurts (Heisman Finalist), Tua (Heisman Finalist), and Jones (Heisman Finalist).

Due to coaching. Because just recruiting better should have had them above LSU... or nah? They can match Bama in recruiting but can’t beat them? That seems like they got out coached.
