Totally agree he got screwed,I mean the number 1 dual threat qb in the country at the time comes in thinking about being a qb moves to wr halfway into his freshman year because he seen the writing on the wall being behind jj his biggest mistake was not transferring

RS is a great guy BUT he was not a college QB when he came here. Nor was he a WR. Les gave him a chance at slot/WR and he still hasn't done anything to convince me that he is a football player, college or pro...

What's he so pissed about? If you want playing time then catch better.
...and know the plays and when you're supposed to be on the field.

So you think Russell Shepard is a first round pick ??
Posted on 1/12/12 at 6:32 am to TigahRag
Beckham found a way to get catches. If RS thinks he is going to be Desean Jackson, he may be premature

One more year does not affect NFL success. The player is either going to make it or not. It only affects how one gets there.

I really have to wonder if he requested to transfer and Les denied him. The kid has no draft stock.

Um, no.

His only draft stock is based on his speed. Very few people get faster with age. If your whole game is based on speed and quickness, then leave early. The scaled back salary pool for rookies reduces the need for waiting and maximizing your stock.
The best case for RS would be to be a late round draft pick, make the team for a contender as a special teamer while learning the nuances of the WR position.

No, he won't. 3 words: Rookie. Pay. Scale.

You think players still leave college for the NFL cause they're ready?
