List in order the events that would have to take place for Nick Saban to get a tiger stadium salute...
I say
has to be removed from the BAMA job for at least 10 years

cant have won a championship with BAMA

is Remorseful to his actions

wants to be a part of LSU somehow (Alumni responsibilities etc)

I hope and pray for his destruction and failure daily. If he stays at Bama for much longer, his reception here will be akin to Tubberville walking into Oxford, MS. He's the enemy, a traitor, a sellout, and a liar. Why is that so hard to understand?

Saban said he made LSU. I was a freshman at LSU in 1958 and of course LSU was no. 1 and LSU was famous a long time before that. He checked out the NFL rosters while at Michigan State and found out that Louisiana players were no.1 in numbers in the NFL per capita for the State. He requested an interview for the head coaching position at LSU when it became open, LSU did not seek him out. He may never be no.1 again.

1- Invent Time Machine

2- Use it

3- Not decide to leve LSU on Christmas Day and show some honesty when doing so.

4- Not chose to come back into the SEC if he decided to leave Miami.

Yeah...those things would be a start.

By definition, attempting to build an SEC West rival is an attempt to harm LSU.

So no ceremony or tribute is necessary or fitting.

Saban doesn't buy into such frivolity anyway.
It would just be another insincere public farce.
The man is a semi-disreputable football coach, not Gandhi.

If you choose to remember his contributions to LSU in a positive way, like thousands of others, feel free to clap for him or write him a fan letter. I have it on good authority that his asst. secretary has a stamp and a form letter that she will send to you moments after your letter hits the trashcan.

Personally I note his contributions to LSU and thank God he came here. And then thank God he left.

It's all about LSU football. Whoever gets to sit in the chair, or wear the hat is a renter, not an owner.

I was being serious.

Saban has completely burnt his bridge to LSU by conciously deciding to return NOT ONLY to the SEC, but to the SECW...and to ALABAMA of all places. There's no spinning that, despite how much he seems to want LSU fans to still love him.

I don't think there will EVER be a time that Nick Saban will be honored in Tiger Stadium and not receive a ton of boos for what he CHOSE to do after leaviing LSU. If the love and support of LSU fans were important to him, he should have realized that taking a gig at BAMA was bad mojo.

OK so if he gets the nod from LSU atheltics in say 10 years to be saluted, does the crowd still boo him? Does it only have to be the game where we play BAMA and no one else?

and on top of that, he took credit for LSU's success on the day he came back. Even if he comes back and coaches LSU one day, it still wouldn't be the same

He knew damn well what would become of his reputation here when he took the Alabama job. It was a calculated move. He knows the fanbase here, the culture, the type of people LSU fans are. Don't kid yourself that he didn't know there would be pure hate directed at him for not just taking a job in the SEC West, but taking a job at a hated rival. He knew it, and now I feel obliged to hate his guts for it. I even feel the disgust for what he did to the Dolphins. How anyone could feel any loyalty to his legacy here is simply beyond me.

Let's say Saban leaves Bama after 2011. Goes to Penn State and coaches there for 10 years. In 2021 he retires and then in 2022 LSU has some ceremony for old players and coaches. I think then LSU fans would embrace what he's done. But nothing sooner than 2022

I would basically agree that he will have had to have been gone from Bama for 10 years before such a thing could happen.

Ok you talked me out of thanking him for bringing our program from the gutter to national powerhouse. I'm not gonna shake his hand. I'm only gonna show him one finger ok maybe two.
