I am down with shortleashing Poche. Hope he bounces back but Hess can give us 3-4 innings

But would you not agree the past is often a good indicator of the future?

Usually, but almost nothing has been like last year with this team, hence the level of play hasn't met expectations...yet.
I added yet really hoping something starts clicking consistently.

The way he's pitching this year? He almost broke the LSU record for most consecutive scoreless innings just a month ago.

against who though?

The overreactionary post to a good outing are just as stupid as the overreactions to a bad outing.

Hess threw great tonight...Poche had a rough start. Lets not forget Hess had some rough outings too, and Poche has proven to be a winner throughout his career.

You cracked it. Throwing no hitters against bad teams is a very normal thing to do. It's no big deal really.

He'll bounce back. He's one of our aces.

Poche must be having arm troubles. His fastball has been definitely of the offspeed variety in recent weeks. It's much, much easier to take an 86 mph fastball over the fence, than one traveling 99 mph.

Poche has never hit 99 mph with his fastball.

It's not velocity that's causing Poche's problems, it's his location. He's leaving everything up in the zone, especially his curve.

If you watched the first game yesterday you would have seen Papierski setting up low and either inside or outside many times times only to have the pitch delivered waist high over the plate.

Poche is missing his spots, by THIS much...hopefully, he can zero in the next time...last week against old Mrs, he gave up only 5 hits, but 4 of those were solo HR's...
He is a contact pitcher, just like Walker, the difference between the 2 right now is Poche is hitting the barrel & Walker is missing it...
