Not really. It's just hilarious listening to comments like "dadgummit, I wandah if ole Lane has done gone and found Jay ta fine out what it takes to be a champeen."

As if Kiffin hasn't coached for the goat of a HIGHLY COMPETITIVE sport where every college has the desire to win in. College basketball is the same.

Not college baseball, where only a handful of west coast schools and ONE major school (LSU) are actually trying to win at.

Do any of you actually think we'd dominate this sport if all the major schools took it seriously like we do?
Step back and listen to it. It's pretty entertaining.

I'm constantly humored by how hard people try to belittle baseball and how many schools are not just trying, but have actual legitimate shots at winning one.

a WHOLE lot more that one major program are trying to win it.

just in the SEC:

LSU
Ole Miss
Miss State
Vandy
Tennessee
Florida

have all won it recently.

which is more schools than Football and Basketball combined in this league.

A&M
Texas
Arkansas
Oklahoma

are you really going to try to say these teams aren't desperately TRYING to win it?

hell, I've already listed more teams with legitimate title shots in just one conference than there is in the entire country in football.

the ACC is also a very deep baseball conference.
North Carolina, Miami, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville are all damn good programs that pump resources into their baseball teams and can make runs.

the BIG XII has a few schools that take baseball seriously too.
TCU, Arizona, Texas Tech, etc.

thing big west coast schools UCLA, Oregon, Oregon State

then there's teams that are down right now, but have some pretty good fairly recent history too, like South Carolina and Stanford.

and that's still leaving out all the "small" schools that are in the mix all the damn time.

Of course the ACTUAL players on the field are busting their arse to win in every sport.

But if you think any OTHER major school's fan base would rather win at college baseball as opposed to football or men's basketball, you're delusional.

Interesting that you say this but don't stop there.

Instead you post:

Which I did not see anyone say before your original post

Sounds like you're just reenforcing my point.

If we win a few more, we are dominating. Right now, we are just in the upper echelon, like we are in many sports. I'm also curious why you think other SEC schools that are also very good from year to year don't take it seriously.

In large measure because of you triggered football baws

Why does LSU fans caring so much about baseball upset you so much? Go touch some grass

When I hear quotes like "skip and Jay are our bear and saban", it sounds PREPOSTEROUS. 99% of college sports fans wouldn't have a clue who you where talking about if you said that. But they would CERTAINLY know who bear and Saban are.

Trust me, I'll fall asleep 30 seconds after my head hits the pillow tonight.

Why should I care? The analogy is still spot on.

It's an analogy dude. And a very applicable one. Get a grip.

picking which sport is a fanbase's favorite is a completely different argument than what you said in the post I quoted.

would those schools rather win in football?
of fricking course, no question.

but that's not what you tried to say.

you said the only reason we dominate is because nobody else even tries.
which is just flat out wrong.

if anything, there are more baseball teams that are good enough to win a National Title than there are football teams.

Skip also coached in a different era, he had gorilla ball with hot bats. Jay i think has to be more cerebral with his approach. Two different eras of the game its evolved a lot since Skip. Both greats Jay is still working on his legacy where Skip is cemented in time. He needs 5 more
