but all the camp reports were that Van Buren was not great and was consistently missing wide open receivers - and they were bad misses.
Not just wide open, they said he was over throwing guys when there was no defense on the field. No coverage, no pass rush.

same camp reports that said nuss was great?
No. Those camp reports only said Nuss was head and shoulders above Van Buren and Hurley. They even said Nuss was missing some throws, but nowhere near the other two.

He should play the entire second half.
Nuss needs to play the 1st half if the injury really doesn't need time off to properly heal, or whatever BK said, gotta trust BK on that.
Ideally the entire first string on offense and defense sits the entire second half and the second units play.
No reason we shouldn't be up by four scores by halftime along with a shutout, anything less than 24-0 and we aren't playing up to our standards.

Feels like a good game for a key defensive player to get a 2nd half targeting and have to sit out the 1st half against OM.

Yeah, we all prefer 33% over 25 yards Nuss!

I feel like you were on team Jordan Jefferson back in the day. (2011)

Rushing stats for QB includes yards lost on sacks ! He had 5 rushing touchdowns last year none were QB sneaks! He not a great runner but he’s not afraid to run ! And against SLU I would play him once Nuss has gotten out some of the kinks

Y'all really are going retarded over this offense.
Imagine not knowing a damn thing about MVB and still making this thread.

I would love to see the teenager play before MVB.

Always that potential, but hell, we have play 21+ ish players on defense, at least. We can let our top 14 or so guys sit in the second half.

If you were having to try to do literally everything on a horrible Mississippi State team as a true freshman in the SEC then your stats probably wouldn’t look very good either. I’m not sayin Van Buren is Jayden Daniels by any means but at least if he sees an opportunity to run for it and gain a 1st down he is not afraid at all to do it and very capable of doing it.

People expecting Van Buren to be the starter next season are going to be very disappointed.

The competition for QB is over. It was over early in fall practice. Nussmeier easily won the job even with a torso injury.
I notice no mention of the receiving corps here. They are a contributing factor to our passing game being less than optimal
I have nothing against Van Buren but this is just dumb. This game is the perfect opportunity to polish up the passing game for both Nussmeier and his receivers.
