you do realize this is the exact amount of rest he would get in an MLB staring rotation, correct?

I think people are having flashbacks to 2017 when we lost to FL in the championship series because we didn't have our best pitcher available. I know you have to get there, but this definitely feels like deja vu.

Comes to mind. Would be nice if Skenes does start, we have a big lead & can pull him before he goes into triple digit pitches. Would anyone be shocked if Skenes doesn't start & held back a few innings? You would want him to be available to pitch against Florida in some capacity, but if we don't win tonight, it doesn't matter. Right now it is all about beating Wake! Worry about Florida later!

The answer is simple, quit making it so difficult.

We have used up our 1 loss for round 1 so you throw Skenes because there is no tomorrow with a loss.

Once you advance, you earn the right to lose 1 more again and you have outside hope that the weather buys you an extra day at some point.

Celebrate, Tiger fans...it is without a doubt SKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKENES DAY

If Skenes can’t pitch on 5 days rest, he can’t be a MLB pitcher. He’ll be fine.

If there is even a hint of fatigue then Jay will protect him. Jay is not going to put him in a dangerous position.

When he LEFT game 1 he was throwing 100 with a spin rate out of the world. Yes he needed to recover but realistically he had plenty in the tank at 5 minutes rest.

He is fine. Plus Jay may have to fight him to keep him off the bump

The nutsy call would be holding him out for Game 1 on Saturday not knowing if you will even be playing then.

if he pitches tonight that puts him in MLB pitcher rest timing. No worries about the rest.

I imagine he'll be fine but people keep saying it's MLB rest.

Well he isn't yet conditioned for MLB rest.

That’s not what KP was saying on Saturday. He was saying he expects Skenes to be in a starting rotation this season if a franchise wanted to. I know KP is not a MLB general manager, but I think he knows a bit more they the average Rant poster.

Ok. Maybe the below average rant poster.

I'm not saying he shouldn't pitch. Only that it's an MLB rest isn't a valid reason.

Once in MLB he'll get conditioned to do so, and it won't be in a win or go home game.

He's a big strong dude. LSU is in better shape than Wake's ace. It's more likely that guy is fatigued before a pitcher who's already conditioned like Skenes. Why do you think the MLB and the big time college programs put a premium on tall huge pitchers? For reasons like this. Their bodies can take more wear/fatigue. They have better stamina and obviously the pitching advantages they bring.

WF should be more worried about their guy and how he can hold up. He doesn't have a frame like Skenes and he already looked like he was laboring the past few starts with fatigue.
