LSUisOVER9000, since you just joined the Rant in NOV 2009, STFU. Quit now because your piece is worthless.

If Perilloux(sp.?) had behaved, Les has 53 to 55 wins right now, even with the D let down last year.
Good chance at 10-2 last year (UF and OM), 9-2 or 10-1 this year.
That would be 55 or 56, depending.
Immaturity at QB has killed us. Lack of coaching on D last year was an accessory to the crime.

Inheriting Saban's payers>>>DeNardo's players
Saban had more work to do.

i would have respectively disagree strongly with that. i do agree that the qb play has ben inconsistent, but do you really think that the any of the quarterbacks are being put in the best positions to succeed? have we seen any continuity or even any sort of rhythm to offense this year? i mean RP could have gotten hurt, i mean you just cant automatically say that lsu would have won X amount of games with him playing.

Don't forget that Miles never lost to the likes of UAB, Northeast (ULM), and to frigging Utah in the Sugar Bowl.

that is a good point, but also dont forget that miles walked into a fully stocked kitchen cuz saban had already done all the shopping. that is not an argument for "miles winning with saban's players" .. jus saying the pieces were here and the situation was just different.

Saban has crap to work with, miles had much better. If you reverse the coaches, miles doesn't make it to 04

Seriously, this is the best that you can come up with?
Similar record, one while creating the blueprint, getting facilities built, changing a losing culture.
The other shows up w/ the groundwork laid, and the culture starting to rear it's head again.
There are lies, damn lies, and then stats!

Also, Miles does get the team ready for post season play, this fact has been proven every season he's been here. Saban on the other hand seems to get other things on his mind during the post season.

You cannot primarily blame a coach for a player throwing almost as many TD's to the opponent as to his own receivers. Perilloux instead of Lee last year: we beat Bama, we don't throw a pick six in the opening of the UGA game and that game probably goes differently(although the D might still have done us in); we beat Arkansas because the team hasn't given up on themselves (which they appeared to have done by then); we are 10-2,
This year, with a better game manager at QB (more experienced at clock conservation) we beat bama and OM.
Injuries always change things, but odds are he would have played most or all of those games and we win 4 or 5 more, go to the SECCG game this year, and have a second chance at UF with a ranking somewhere in the top 6 BEFORE the SECCG.

That makes sense. My point about the coaching is that when Lee was in there, especially in the UGA game since you used that example. Why in God's name do the coaches call a play with 5 wide and ask a redshirt freshman to make reads against a very good SEC defense? Instead of designing the offense around the players and highlighting their skill sets, they seem want to run the same plays no matter who is in the game. Unless I am totally forgetting some playing time for Perrilloux, he didn't have all that much more playing time than Jefferson did before he became the full time starter. Although the SEC championship game experience is invaluable. Nice discussion though.
