I know its old, but the 1982 Tulane 4th and 4 pass to Reggie Reginelli....we were 27 point favorite and 8-1-1, they stunk, it was one of our best teams, and they really were obnoxious on our field after...of course we have not lost to them since, but at the time it hurt bad

All of the plays listed are memorable ones, but there are two sequences of plays (each with 2 plays) that left my jaw open and my brain foggy:

Nov. 1998 Death Valley
Alabama scores not one, but TWO touchdowns on passes to the SAME Bama receiver, against the SAME LSU DB, who tipped BOTH passes, and LSU loses AGAIN at home to Alabama 22-16 I think it was. I thought I was on another planet.

Nov. 2002 at Arkansas
LSU leads Arkansas 17-14 and has a 4th and 1 1/2 deep in UA territory. Saban decides to kick a FG for a 20-14 lead instead of letting Randall run for the first.
Arkansas gets the kickoff and is deep in their own territory. Matt Jones is like 2-17, but throws not one, but TWO Hail Marys - one to midfield, the next for a TD as the game ends.
If not for that, we may played in Atlanta three straight years.......

Right. Because but for that play, we would have won. Geesh, some "fans." Honestly don't comprehend how this dumb play could in any way compare to the Auburn pass interference play.

chill the frick out. the title of this thread is "the play that lingers" and that play (along with the rest of our pitiful offensive performance in the NC) is still pretty fresh in my mind.

McCray had Hillis on that 4th down play and he let him go!!!

That '02 Arkansas loss probably had me the hottest! I hated Matt Jones and for him to complete two passes for 80 yds with the game on the line was ridiculous.

Yeah but we still won the NC in 07! So that arkansas play doesn't bother me as much brewhan Davey

This is true. Still was a pretty tough game to witness though. But I'll take the end result of that season for a little heartbreak.

The play that sticks out to me most is the non-PI call against Early in the 2006 Auburn game. I can't help but think what if..
Let's say that call stood, and LSU won the game 10-7.
LSU very well could have had 2 SEC Championships and 2 National Championships back to back in 06 and 07.

I'd have to say the forward shovel pass interception in the NC will stick with me a long, long, long time.

This! A close second isn't really a single play but the time management meltdown at Ole Miss in 2009.

I was at that game, rooting for Tulane

It was the first time they had beaten LSU in TS in a long, long time, plus back to back. Big win for Tulane and as it turns out, their last hoorah against LSU.

I think 1982 was only the second time Onelane had beaten LSU in Death Valley since "Gone With The Wind."

Miles 1st and last games for me. Tenn at home after Katrina up 21-0 and Jan. 9th,2012. I know its not one play but both games linger way to much in the back of my mind

This was not Miles first game, but yes that Tenn game was awful. It was also my first game in Tiger Stadium.

One play for me would be the PP7 non-interception.

Any play from the 50 burger Florida put on us could apply too. I try to forget that game even happened.

David Irons mugging Brandon Lafell in the end zone during the first half of that '06 Auburn game. Worst no call i've ever seen.

Sounds about right. They lost 25 in a row from 48-72, ended it in 73. 79-82 Tulane won 3 out of 4. That's got to be the best strech for them

PP7 vs Bama

Here you go. The image that lingers is where CBS cuts to the grass torn up by PP7's foot as he dragged it to make sure he stayed in bounds.

Several broadcasters on NFL shows the next morning were saying how that should've been ruled an int in the NFL, let alone the NCAA.

Dinardo going for 2 vs Georgia in 98 or 99. I guess I understand why he did it, they were physically manhandling us so he didn't want OT but it still lingers with me.
